Only sad part of this is story is that he outlived Norm McDonald

I display the Confederate Battle Flag in honor of my great great great grandfathers who spilled blood at Wilson's Creek and Shiloh.  5 others served in the WBTS with honor too.

14 Times O.J. Simpson Got No Mercy From ‘SNL’s Norm Macdonald

O.J. Simpson died today of cancer at the age of 76. The Hall of Fame football player who infamously stood trial for murder in the 1990s had an unexpectedly robust comedy career, hosting Saturday Night Live, costarring in the popular Naked Gun movie series and serving as the butt of the late Norm Macdonald’s merciless jokes on Weekend Update. Macdonald famously lost his job at SNL for his refusal to stop attacking Simpson, a weekly jab (or even flurry of punches) that infuriated O.J.’s golfing pal, NBC executive Don Ohlmeyer.

Here are 14 of Macdonald’s most vicious punchlines at the expense of O.J.…

RIP Norm.  Too bad you won't being seeing OJ where his is going.
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

White House expresses condolences on OJ Simpson’s death, with no mention of murder victims

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre offered condolences Thursday following the death of OJ Simpson  — but made no mention of the two people he was accused, and sensationally acquitted, of killing nearly three decades ago.

“Our thoughts are with his families [sic] during this difficult time — obviously with his family and loved ones,” Jean-Pierre said at her regular briefing.

“And I’ll say this, I know that they have asked for some privacy. And so we’re going to respect that. And I’ll just leave it there.”

Condolences for a murderer, why am I not surprised considering this collection of POS's in the White house routinely show more concern for murderers and rapists...especially of 'color'...especially if here illegally, than they ever do for their American victims.

OJ Simpson civil judgment collection to continue after death, Goldman attorney pledges
David Cook says OJ Simpson has died ‘without penance’

By Greg Norman FOXBusiness

A California attorney seeking to collect a civil judgment from O.J. Simpson after he was found responsible for the deaths of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman in a 1997 civil trial is vowing Thursday to push forward with collection following Simpson’s passing.

Simpson, 76, "succumbed to his battle with cancer" on Wednesday as he "was surrounded by his children and grandchildren," the Simpson family announced in a statement.

"I’ve been dealing with this problem since 2008, so it's been a long time, so I’m still dealing with the matter," San Francisco-based attorney David Cook told FOX Business on Thursday. "As to O.J. Simpson here, it’s really simple, it’s called dead without penance. He’s gone, but it’s without penance. For Ron, obviously he’s gone."

Simpson famously was acquitted in a 1995 murder trial for the brutal slayings of his ex-wife and Goldman outside of her Los Angeles home.

Why is the White House injecting themselves into this?

And why this particular death?

Mandisa, Grammy-winning singer and 'American Idol' alum, has died at 47

Quote

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Mandisa, a contemporary Christian singer who appeared on "American Idol" and won a Grammy for her 2013 album 'Overcomer', has died. She was 47.

A representative for the singer told The Associated Press that the singer was found dead in her home in Nashville, Tennessee, on Thursday. The representative said the cause of Mandisa's death was not yet known.

Mandisa, whose full name was Mandisa Lynn Hundley, was born near Sacramento, California, and grew up singing in church. She gained stardom after finishing ninth on "American Idol" in 2006.

As she left, host Ryan Seacrest told the singer that she was "a great spirit on the show."

For unvaccinated, we are looking at a winter of severe illness and death — if you’re unvaccinated — for themselves, their families, and the hospitals they’ll soon overwhelm. Sloe Joe Biteme 12/16

I can't recall how many times I heard the announcer call "Gabriel to Snow for the touchdown!" I just watched "The Undefeated" last night where Gabriel played John Wayne's adopted Indian son............so believable **nononono*

I assumed he'd passed on. I'm feeling really old now. Prayers for his loved ones.

Terry Anderson, the globe-trotting Associated Press correspondent who became one of America’s longest-held hostages after he was snatched from a street in war-torn Lebanon in 1985 and held for nearly seven years, has died at 76.

Anderson, who chronicled his abduction and torturous imprisonment by Islamic militants in his best-selling 1993 memoir “Den of Lions,” died on Sunday at his home in Greenwood Lake, New York, said his daughter, Sulome Anderson.

The cause of death was unknown, though his daughter said Anderson recently had heart surgery. ...

Did they keep him on payroll for those seven years?

Rev. Cecil Williams, Glide Memorial Church co-founder and San Francisco leader, dies at 94

https://www.cbsnews.com/sanfrancisco/news/rev-cecil-williams-glide-memorial-co-founder-san-francisco-community-pillar-dies-at-94/

Quote
Reverend Cecil Williams, who co-founded Glide Memorial Church and dedicated his life to San Francisco's underserved community, died Monday at the age of 94.

The Glide Foundation said he died surrounded by friends and family at his San Francisco home.

"We have lost an incomparable champion of social justice, civil and human rights, and liberation theology," Glide said.

In a statement, San Francisco Mayor London Breed described Williams as the "conscience of San Francisco community."

As Social Gospelers go (or went), he was pretty much all social, no Gospel. OTOH, unlike some Social Gospelers, his hands and feet were where his mouth was. Sadly, while he would not recognize it, things he did did much harm, possibly more than any good he did (speaking secularly).

Sounds like Jim Jones without the Kool-Aid.

From what I've heard, Before heading off to start Jonestown, Jim Jones did do some social assistance type stuff in SF. This would have been, I guess, in the early and/or mid 70s, before I moved from Phoenix to Silicon Valley.

Cecil Williams preached all the radical stuff - race-victimology, anti-American, yada, yada, yada - but unlike, e.g., Jesse or Sharp Al, Williams did try to aid people with food and necessaries. His activities might actually have been more helpful than government programs by actually dealing with individuals as individuals.

I'm not anything like a fan, but I do try to be realistic.
