In an X post on Thursday, former US Capitol Police Lieutenant Tarik Johnson said that he has been stating publically that "J6 was not an insurrection, but not many people would listen," reflecting on Vivek Ramaswamy’s comments during a CNN townhall event in Iowa on Wednesday evening.

"Vivek Ramaswamy got a lot right in this interview," Johnson began. "I’ve been saying publicly for a year that J6 was not an insurrection but not many people would listen."

"Ironically so, no one would benefit more than I if J6 was an insurrection as I (Tarik Johnson) was the Commander that ordered and led the evacuations of the Senate and the House during the J6 breach after begging former Assistant Chief Yogananda Pittman for permission to do so as she sat comfortably in the Commander Center watching the events unfold on CCTV while Chief Steven A Sund was obtaining National Guard approval and getting assistance from local law enforcement agencies."

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.

... here we go with more Clinton-esque lawyerly wordsmithing ... if not an "insurrection", what was it?

1.) mosh pit
2.) hockey game
3.) peaceful tourist jamboree
4.) Shriners convention
5.) sedition
6.) putsch
7.) (failed) coup de etat (attempt)
8.) MAGA Lives Matter rally
9.) siege
10.) Girl Scouts selling cookies

I watched the damned thing live.  What I saw was wrong.  I am not as stupid and as gullible as the MAGA collaborators would like.

I don't give a damn how Ivy League educated lawyers want to twist language and grammar to minimize what happened.

There was a corrupt enterprise (Trump 2020 Campaign) that conspired with unidicted co-conspirators (House Reps, Senators, false electors, lawyers) to use horse crap parliementary manuevering to interrupt a Constitutional proceding and overturn the State-Certifiied Electoral Votes.

The theiving scumbag ambulance chasing lawyers even prepared a PowerPoint presentatiion for their corrupt enterprise and corrupt acts:

Revolt?
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

  • WE are NOT ok!
Revolt?

Revolt in my mind indicates not a peaceful assembly. IIRC what Trump told the masses, to assemble "peacefully" with peaceful being the keyword.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

There was also a videotape of a person dressed in MAGA attire that was shown in a room off of the Senate floor that stormed the Senate chambers with others.

Sorry ... you will never convince me that Pelosi, Pence and the capital police didn't know ahead of time. The famous J6 insurrection was planned to make MAGA and Trump look bad. Funny don't you think that they stormed the chambers just as Cruz and Hawley were objecting?

Who summoned those people to Washington DC  with this statement, “Statistically impossible to have lost the 2020 Election,"Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!"?

Who made the fiery speech, claiming that he won the election by landslide, and told his followers to march to were the election certification was taking place with him leading the way, and then took off?

Who watched the events unfold on TV and refused to say anything even as his staff and family tried everything they could to convince him to say something to try to end the riot?

It wasn’t Pelosi or Pence

I will agree with you that Trump did use the word “peacefully” in his speech. They might try to get him with inciting a riot but I suppose they would have to prove that he knew those people would riot before hand, and there’s no evidence that’s the case
