IDF claims to have killed top Hamas commander responsible for 'numerous murderous attacks'

Israeli forces claim it has killed a top Hamas commander who has been known to be the mastermind behind past deadly attacks.

Taysir Mubasher, the Commander of the North Khan Yunis Battalion, was "eliminated" by the Israeli Air Force soldiers, the IAF announced on X Wednesday.

Mubasher was the former commander of the Hamas Naval force and has had "extensive military and command experience as a coordinator of terrorist attacks."

He was considered to be close to Hamas senior members "with an emphasis" on Muhammad Deif, the leader of the terror group's military wing.

"Mubasher was responsible for a number of murderous attacks against IDF soldiers and citizens of the State of Israel over the years," the IAF said. Including an attack on a school in 2002 that killed five students.

The IDF said it is believed Mubasher had produced the explosives that killed an IDF soldier during an explosion at an outpost in 2004, along with an earlier attack in 2003.

The leader of Qatar, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, said he is hopeful that a "breakthrough" will happen soon in the release of hostages being held by the Hamas terrorist organization, according to CNN.

“If we will be able to get along between the two parties, I think we will see some breakthrough hopefully soon,” he told a news conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan. “The negotiations are still ongoing,” Al Thani said.

Four hostages have been freed since the horrific attack on Oct. 7 at an Israeli music festival.

US military officials are trying to convince Israel against carrying out a ground invasion of the Gaza Strip in response to Hamas's October 7 massacre, CNN reported on Wednesday citing "several sources familiar with the matter."

As per the report, American officials advised the IDF against a counter-invasion, with the fear it could "endanger hostages, civilians, and further inflame tensions in the region."

Instead, the IDF was urged to deploy a "combination of precision airstrikes and targeted special operations raids" across the Strip.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara have been residing in a Jerusalem villa owned by American billionaire Simon Falic in the past week, Channel 13 reported on Wednesday, as hundreds of thousands of Israelis were internally displaced from their homes after Hamas's October 7 massacre.

Furthermore, the Netanyahus had reportedly brought in their state-paid personal chef to Falic's Talpiot estate, a breach of regulations that do not allow for a state employee to work in a private home.

It is not clear whether Falic and his family are currently residing in the home.

US defense official says 30 service members injured in drone and rocket attacks in last week

A U.S. defense official tells Fox News that 30 U.S. service members have been injured in drone and rocket attacks in the Middle East over the past week.

The full extent of the injuries was not immediately clear. The defense official said several service members suffered from traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) but have all returned to duty.

United States-led coalition forces have started live-fire exercises at military bases in Iraq and Syria, after more than a dozen attacks on American troops over the last week.

The Combined Joint Task Force — Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said on Wednesday that ground operational exercises "to validate weapons systems and maintain crew proficiency and readiness" would happen in or near the al-Hasakah region in Syria and the Khalidiyah region in Iraq.

"On Oct. 25, 2023, Coalition service members will be conducting ground operational exercises in or near the al-Hasakah region in Syria to validate weapons systems and maintain crew proficiency and readiness," a notice from CJTF-OIR said. A separate but similar notice coalition forces will conduct "base defense and ground operational exercises in or near the Khalidiyah region in Iraq to validate weapons systems and maintain crew proficiency and readiness."

The exercises come as U.S. troops positioned in the Middle East have been attacked 14 times — 11 times in Iraq and three times in Syria — between Oct. 17-24. The attacks include a mix of one-way drones and rockets.

'Heartbreaking' teddy bear display calls attention to Israeli children held hostage by Hamas



Dozens of teddy bears with blindfolds were set up in a display near a fountain in Tel Aviv to call attention to the suffering of Israeli children held captive by Hamas terrorists.

Each of the brown and white stuffed animals featured a picture of one of the roughly 30 children, some as young as nine months old, who were among the 222 people held hostage in Gaza by Hamas fighters following the militant group's attack on Israel on Oct. 7, the Associated Press reported.

Photos of the display show some of the bears were marked with fake blood and some were tied together. Passerbys said they were left speechless.

“It’s just unbelievable. There’s like no words. Because, even with the blood on it you can see, and the blindfolds … it’s very symbolic for me of the captivity of innocent children,” Hilary Meyerov said. “It’s completely heartbreaking.”

An off-duty Israeli soldier stopped to take photos of the display.

“Bring them back. Bring them back,” said Avigail Ben-Yosef. “I’m sending love to all the families, they are waiting for these children, and to all the other hostages.”

Israel agrees to postpone Gaza ground invasion until US air-defense systems are in place: report

Israel had agreed Wednesday to a U.S. request to get air-defense systems in place to protect American forces serving in Iraq, Syria, Kuwait, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, ahead of an expected ground invasion of Gaza.

The Pentagon is rushing to send almost a dozen air-defense systems to the region and had convinced Israel to hold off its invasion of the disputed territory until they are in place, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Israel is also planning its invasion around efforts to supply humanitarian aide to Palestinians trapped in the narrow, densely-populated strip that's besieged with airstrikes during ongoing diplomatic efforts to free more than 200 hostages being held by Hamas, the WSJ reported.

Israel's concessions to its staunch ally came as U.S. officials reportedly said they believe troops in the region would be targeted by militants once the IDF escalates its war on the ground.

At least 13 attacks targeting Americans have been carried out in Iraq and Syria, using drones and missiles over the last two weeks. One U.S. contractor was killed and 22 troops reportedly suffered minor injuries.

"The answer, the hurt, the sense of outrage that the Israeli people are feeling after the brutally inflicted devastation by Hamas is completely understandable," the president said shortly before 2 p.m.

"Israel has the right — and I would add, responsibility — to respond to the slaughter of their people. And we will ensure Israel has what it needs to defend itself against these terrorists. That's a guarantee.

"We also have to remember that Hamas does not represent the vast majority of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip or anywhere else. Hamas is hiding behind Palestinian civilians, and it's despicable and, not surprisingly, cowardly as well. This also puts an added burden on Israel while they go after Hamas, but that does not lessen the need for to operate in line with the laws of war.

"There's no going back to the status quo as it stood on Oct. 6. That means ensuring Hamas can no longer terrorize Israel and use Palestinian civilians as human shields.

"When this crisis is over, there has to be a vision of what comes next. And in our view, it has to be a two-state solution. And means a concentrated effort for all the parties — Israelis, Palestinians, regional partners, global leaders — to put us on a path toward peace."

"I continue to be alarmed about extremist settlers attacking Palestinians in the West Bank," Biden went on to say from the Rose Garden during a presser while hosting the prime minister of Australia.

Israeli PM Netanyahu promises ground invasion of Gaza to come to exact 'highest price' from Hamas

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in an address to his nation, promised that the delayed ground invasion of Gaza will come soon.

Netanyahu said that when the time comes, the Israeli military will "exact the highest price from these murderers" for the Oct. 7 terror attack in which at least 1,400 Israelis were killed. The unprecedented infiltration of Israel, the deadliest terror attack in the country's history, provoked a war that is now in its 19th day.

"We will never forget the 1,400 brothers and sisters who were slaughtered in cold blood and fought heroically to the death against these human animals, Netanyahu said, announcing there will be a national day of mourning for the victims.

The prime minister also promised there will be an investigation into the security failures that led to Hamas catching Israel off-guard on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah.

"This failure will be investigated to the end. Everyone has to respond to that and give answers, including me, but all of this is after the war," Netanyahu said.

Israel-Hamas war: International Criminal Court urged to investigate war crimes in October 7 massacre

The International Criminal Court (ICC) has been asked to investigate Hamas for war crimes with respect to the southern Israel massacres on October 7.

The International Legal Forum (ILF), an Israel-based NGO, filed the complaint on Wednesday. According to the ILF, it is the first formal complaint about the October 7 massacres to the International Criminal Court.

In a statement, the ILF asked the Chief Prosecutor to "initiate an urgent investigation" into war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity committed by Hamas.

"Specific crimes alleged, include, but are not limited to: intentionally directing attacks against a civilian population, mass murder and summary executions, taking of hostages, torture, rape, use of human shields, pillaging and mutilation," the statement read.

"In addition to seeking the arrest warrants for the leadership of Hamas, the complaint also seeks arrest warrants against Mahmoud Abbas, in his capacity as President of the Palestinian Authority, as well as Ayatollah Khamenei of Iran and Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami, Chief of the Iran Revolutionary Guards Corps, arising out of their legal culpability and direct involvement in the atrocities committed on October 7th, 2023, and continuing thereafter."

President Biden: 'No confidence' in Hamas-led health ministry casualty reports

President Biden on Wednesday told reporters he has "no confidence" in the Palestinian death toll reported by the Hamas-led health ministry in Gaza.

The Hamas-controlled Gaza health ministry claims that more than 6,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli airstrikes since the start of the Israel-Hamas war on Oct. 7, including 2,700 children.

"I have no notion whether Palestinians are telling the truth about how many people are killed," Biden said when asked about the reported death toll. "I'm sure innocents have been killed and it's a price of waging a war."

The president said Israel should be "incredibly careful to be sure that they're focusing on going after the folks that are propagating this war against Israel, and it's against our interests when that doesn't happen. But I have no confidence in the number that the Palestinians are using."

The Hamas-run Health Ministry claimed Wednesday that at least 6,546 Palestinians have been killed and 17,439 others wounded. In the occupied West Bank, authorities claim more than 100 Palestinians have been killed and 1,650 wounded in violence and Israeli raids since Oct. 7.

Posters in London showing Israeli children kidnapped by Hamas were vandalized with illustrations of mustaches reminiscent of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler's.

One of the posters showed Emma and Yuli Cunio, three-year-old sisters who were snatched from Kibbutz Nir Oz during Hamas' bloody October 7 sneak attack on Israel and remain hostages of the terrorist group.

A pair of narrow mustaches synonymous with the architect of the Holocaust were inked on the faces of the smiling twin girls, and crude black unibrows were scrawled across their foreheads, according to the Telegraph.

The girls were abducted along with their parents, their aunt, and a five-year-old cousin.

Similarly vandalized was a poster for 17-year-old Tomer Eliaz Arava, who is believed to have been killed at Nahal Oz Kibbutz during the attack.

Hamas reportedly forced Arava to go door-to-door in his kibbutz and tell his neighbors it was safe to come out so they could be easier ambushed.

Police are investigating the vandalism as a hate crime.

Similar "kidnapped" posters have been posted across the globe to spread awareness about the victims of Hamas' attack, and in many cities people have been caught defacing them or tearing them from walls.
