CPAC conservative ‘ratings’ give edge to Jordan over Scalise

The conservative ratings of the two leading candidates running for House speaker as well as those supporting them give the edge to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) over House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA).

In the latest ratings released by CPAC’s Center for Legislative Accountability, Scalise has a lifetime 91.43% rating and Jordan a 100% rating on the critical issues the conservative political group charts.

In the most recent rating, Scalise had an 82% rating, dragged down by votes “against conservatives” on some key spending issues. Jordan’s recent rating was 100%.

I'd take Scalise, even though I do not consider him a conservative.

I don't expect a conservative, as the conservative caucus en-toto is small. But a moderate leaning conservative, able to gather the ends, that keeps his word would be fine.

No one elected CPAC to anything.

Inviting RFK Jr. to speak suggests they don't really know what "conservative" even means.
