She should have retired in 2020 or so. Babs Bouncer, whose intelligence I habitually questioned (she couldn't balance her House Bank checkbook!), had the sense to retire rather than be carried out in a mahogany box. DiFei didn't, and I doubt that Pelosiroo will, either.

DiFei trying to stick out her term sets up Goobernor Noisome into a D-if-he-does-D-if-he-doesn't situation. DiFei wanted to retire after next year's election, letting the election choose her successor. There are already announced candidates for he seat. So, does Goobernor Noisome skew that upcoming election by appointing one of the candidates to DiFei's seat? Or does Goobernor Noisome ignore the current candidates, some of whom are noisy POCs (e.g. Baa-Baa Lee), and incur their noisy wrath. I guess leaving DiFei's seat open is also possible, but that messes with the Dem's "control" of the Senate and Kammie's role as tie-breaker.

I said over the summer after the post stroke pics that she only had a few months. Not exactly prophetic.

This woman was a MAJOR architect of the downfall of this nation. I recall her speeches in her more prime days, particularly during the plastic banana Clinton presidency and her little smirky punk tactics, colluding and spinmeister lawyering that have led to what we have now. She was right in the thick of it. Being civil is not part of my local culture, and I'll call trash is what trash does. Spit, curses, and black roses be upon her.

The nation’s leftists have been loudly calling for Feinstein’s ouster so Governor Gavin Newsom could replace her with a hair-on-fire leftist. Recently, Newsom, who considers Feinstein “family,” said he would not replace her until she voluntarily left. He said he had full confidence that her staff was doing a great job running her office, ignoring the fact that no Californians actually voted for her staff.

But now she’s gone, and the road is clear for a new far-left California senator. And now you’re about to be treated to a lesson in just how far left Newsom will go with naming her replacement, who would fill the spot until January 2025.

Newsom has previously promised, ala Joe Biden, to replace Feinstein with a black woman, which would give Oakland area Congresswoman Barbara Lee an edge in the DiFi sweepstakes. San Francisco weirdo State Senator Scott Wiener, Russia collusion hoaxer Congressman Adam Schiff, and climate catastrophist Congresswoman Katie Porter are all gunning to sit in Feinstein’s wheelchair.

Baa-Baa Lee was the hand-picked successor of Ron "Red" Dellums, an avowed communist or socialist. Scott Wiener is the gay hyper-activist who has rammed all kinds of craziness through the legislature (how much he arm-twisted Noisome into signing some of his perversity, I won't try to guess). Schifftyroo needs no explanation. Katie Porter is a plain-vanilla lockstep Prog Dem (when told to, "Jump!" she asks, "How high?" on the way up). IIRC, Noisome has more recently said that he might appoint someone who is not a current candidate for DiFei's seat.

Since American Government has become a geriatric old folks home, they never die alone.

Used to live next door to an old folks home similar to Congress years ago.
There was an ambulance there pretty much all the time. On standby.

I met Senator Diane Feinstein once, in the lead up to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. She had just recently been assigned to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (in 2001), and it was in that capacity that she had a senior staffer from the committee ask me to come to Washington DC to brief her on Iraqi WMD and the allegations being made by the Bush administration that Iraq continued to possess them. We met in a secure conference room in the Capital building—me, the Senator, and a half dozen staffers and aides. It was a polite, professional affair, with the Senator asking questions and taking notes.

 Eventually she confronted me—“Your position is causing us some difficulty. You are making the US look bad in the eyes of the world.” I replied that my analysis and the underlying facts were rock solid, something she agreed with. I said that while I knew she couldn’t reveal sensitive intelligence, if she could look me in the eye and say she has seen unequivocal proof that Iraq retained WMD, I’d shut up and go away. She looked at her retinue, and then me. “I have seen no such intelligence,” she replied. She thanked me for the briefing, and said it provided her with “food for thought.”

On October 11, 2002, Senator Feinstein voted in favor of the resolution authorizing war with Iraq. Later, she said she had been misled by the Bush administration and bad intelligence.

I will forever know Senator Feinstein as someone who had been empowered by the truth, and lacked the moral courage to act on it. The blood of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqis stains her soul. I hope when she stands in judgment before her maker, she is punished accordingly.

I guess it depends on where you start counting the 'threes' - there was McCain, Ginsberg and now Feinstein.  We could be done.

OR -- If we start with Feinstein, who knows, we have quite a few in their late 70's and 80's -- Feinstein was 90 so she makes the others look like spring chickens.

Biden - 80, Pelosi - 83, Trump - 77, McConnell - 81

Chuck Grassley, oldest sitting U.S. Senator is 90, but seems to be mentally sharp - in distinct contrast to Feinstein.
McConnell is 81.
