All thinking men are atheists. – Ernest Hemingway, A Farewell to Arms, (Sept 1929), page 8

July 2, 1961, Ketchum, Idaho, this “thinking man” put his double barrel 12-gauge shotgun in his mouth and pulled the trigger. He was 61, living with his fourth wife.

The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. – Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emperor (121 - 180)

Truth.
Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Romans 12:16-18

One's serenity is inversely proportional to one's expectations.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

"The [U.S.] Constitution is a limitation on the government, not on private individuals ... it does not prescribe the conduct of private individuals, only the conduct of the government ... it is not a charter for government power, but a charter of the citizen's protection against the government."     -Ayn Rand-

What did our greatest president think of atheists?

"The Hand of providence has been so conspicuous in all this, that he must be worse than an infidel that lacks faith, and more than wicked, that has not gratitude enough to acknowledge his obligations." —George Washington (1778)

“Men became scientific because they expected law in nature and they expected law in nature because they believed in a lawgiver. It was this conviction that led Francis Bacon (1561–1626), regarded by many as the father of modern science, to teach that God has provided us with two books – the book of Nature and the Bible –” – Professor John Lennox, Oxford University (God’s Undertaker:  Has Science Buried God?)

Many years ago, when our two daughters lived at home and were big enough to help out, I had this epiphany.  My wife worked hard at home and had a job as well.  So we always had dinner together, the four of us.  I announced, "From now on, when Mother cooks, the three of us will clean up afterwards.  And, one day a week, we will prepare meals and clean up after ourselves."  My wife liked that idea very much and so did I.   I encourage all of you to use it at home to help build responsible young adults.  If there is any day when Mothers should not have to clean up after dinner, it is today!

The west  dominates the world and continues to lead the world in public standard of living due to six factors:  competition, science, property rights, medicine, the consumer society and the work ethic, claims Niall Ferguson, in his book, Civilization:  The West and the Rest

Posting the Thought of the day for  @ChemEngrMBA

The newest addition to my website is a very short video where two young black Democrat women call their party "a terrorist organization" and then "the worst."  They know personally!

"I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time — when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness."

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” – Pierre Tielhard de Chardin

“Men became scientific because they expected law in nature, and they expected law in nature because they believed in law giver.” – C.S. Lewis

… the single most distinctive driving force which led to the guillotining, bludgeoning and imprisonment and torture of the tens of thousands of French peasants was, “reason replacing religion.” – Illogical Atheism by Bo Jinn

The only way to get rid of Christianity is to let it die out little by little. I especially wouldn’t want our movement to acquire a religious character and institute a form of worship. It would be appalling to me. – Adolf Hitler

Once the war was over, Hitler promised himself he would root out and destroy the Christian churches. Benito Mussolini, the world’s first fascist, was a staunchly affirmed atheist and anti-cleric.

The pervasive anti-religious bigotry of public schools and colleges extends to America’s libraries as well. When I learned of The Irrational Atheist by Vox Day, I went to my local library to check it out. They did not have it, nor did any library anywhere in America except for the Library of Congress, which loaned it to me. What a searing indictment on the religious bigotry of our librarians who are well stocked with books by atheists ridiculing America’s Christian heritage and birthright.

“Apparently it was just an amazing coincidence that every Communist of historic note publicly declared his atheism … The total body count is approximately 148 million dead at the bloody hands of fifty-two atheists, three times more than all the human beings killed by war, civil war, and individual crime in the entire twentieth century combined. (182,716 times worse than the Spanish Inquisition) ” – Theodore Beale, quoted in The Irrational Atheist

In the Mayflower Compact, the Pilgrims declared their intention of planting a new colony and advancing the Christian faith.

Most of America’s Founding Fathers were active Christians, representing a variety of denominations.

Of the 56 signers of the Declaration of Independence, 24 had received seminary education.

The December 27,1982 edition of Newsweek magazine stated, “Historians are discovering that the Bible, perhaps even more than the constitution, is our founding document.”

After an intensive study of our nation’s religious history, the U.S. Supreme Court declared in an 1892 case, “This is a Christian nation.” (www.apologetics.com)

"So we are we left with Judeo-Christian values and secular left values.
The latter, as noted, hold sway among the world's elites. But they
are personally so unfulfilling and morally so confused that they
cannot work. Western Europe will hopefully awaken to this fact as its
socialist economies fail and as it realizes that you cannot fight faith
(radical Islam) with no faith (secularism). ... The Judeo-Christian
value system is not only the best value system for humanity; it is
the only viable one. If we do not promote it, moral chaos will ensue.
And we can't promote it if we don't know what it is." --Dennis Prager

Merry Christmas To All

"Eat, drink, and be merry." - Ecclesiastes 8:15

“No human society has ever been able to maintain both order and freedom…apart from the moral precepts of the Christian religion applied and accepted by all the classes.” – John Jay, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and Founding Father

“The Christian religion, in its purity is the basis and the source of all genuine freedom in government.” – Noah Webster

“The general principles on which the Fathers achieved independence were the only principles in which that beautiful assembly of young gentlemen could unite …the general principles of Christianity.” – John Adams

“If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will go on prospering and to prosper; but if we and our posterity neglect its instructions and authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” – Daniel Webster

“Our Constitution was made only for a religious people.  It is wholly inappropriate for the government of any other.”  - John Adams

"I say unequivocally that the evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Christ is so overwhelming that it compels acceptance by proof which leaves absolutely no room for doubt!" - Sir Lionel Luckhoo, listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the most successful attorney in history

I just read the recent review of my book by Mary Russo, a professional and business owner, and want to share it with my many followers:

Brilliant Creations - The Wonder of Nature and Life

Mary Russo
5.0 out of 5 stars
 Brilliant Read

Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2025
Format: Hardcover
Reading Brilliant Creations felt like sitting with someone who understands both the wonder of science and the depth of faith. Jaeger blends scientific insight with biblical reflection and philosophical thought in a way that feels natural rather than forced. What stood out to me most is how clearly he communicates—complex ideas become accessible, even inviting, because he speaks in terms anyone can understand.

The book doesn’t just inform; it inspires. Jaeger’s ability to weave together the physical world and spiritual meaning creates a sense of awe that lingers long after the last page. For anyone who’s ever felt that science and faith should complement rather than contradict each other, this book feels like a breath of fresh air.

Dear Friends and Readers,

I searched GOPBR for "SCAMS" and like every other search I have ever done here, it came up empty.
Since I want to warn you wonderful folks of popular scams I have encountered that seemed so authentic because the scammers represented Amazon, I put it here, because this thread has more hits than any other on the whole page, so I think it's a great place to warn all of you.

The first one I busted promised me great things for my book on "Amazon Pro Inc."  They only asked for $9,000 and would return many times that in sales, and... they said, "We're never wrong!"  I quickly realized my follies and called the Amazon legal eagles on them and got my money fully refunded, while Amazon got a large money judgment against the thieves with help from my sworn affidavit in 2023.  It's fun to be on the winning side against crooks.

Next came an offer texted to me to work for Amazon for $100 to $300 a day for a few hours of work.  Either I would make some money, or I would expose their scam.  It was a scam to "review products" which I turned over to Amazon's attorneys whose emails I now have, thanks to the earlier bust.  So if you come across a great offer from Amazon, run away.  It's bogus.

Scammers are exploding.  Why work when you can steal.  I thought I was doing research but scammers build great websites and tell convincing tales.  I asked AI about how crooks could fake faces and voices on Zoom Calls.  AI said no problem. So be very careful when strangers approach you for money online or by phone, and call several people you trust for help, preferably experts.

I was just rescued from losing mid five figures by Divine Intervention. Our Brilliant Creator held up my Express Mail overnight letter with large check for five days, and the postal experts could not explain why.  I could, and put a stop payment on my check.

I emailed a scam document to chief legal counsel of big company whose signature it purportedly bore, and he replied, "Good move. Very wise of you.  It was a scam."

From MSN.com:

A new acronym for liberal white women is gaining traction online, and the New York Times does not appear to be happy about it.

The paper published a lengthy piece Friday about the acronym AWFUL, which stands for Affluent White Female Urban Liberal. Conservative commentators have used the term to describe liberal women protesting immigration enforcement in Minneapolis following the fatal shooting of activist Renee Good by an ICE agent on January 7.

That was too precious, too accurate not to share with all of you.

If you read any more of this wisdom, your head will explode from the overload.

Post Script:  After considerable thought, I am correcting the AWFUL acronym to Affluent White Female Unhinged Liberal.

Two days after my last post, I note that 64 guests are reading this thread.  That is the largest number I have ever seen on this thread, particularly after it is two days old.  Wow.

May I say to all readers, regular, sincere prayer produces dividends.  I will never be convinced otherwise.  Practice it and see for yourself.

The Scriptures tell you to eat, drink, and be happy.  Rejoice every day.  Give thanks.  Don't worry, leave that in the hands of your Creator to take care of what you cannot.  This is all confirmed by contemporary scientific studies.

Bless you all for reading and wanting to learn.  Please private message me and tell me what you would like to see, or if you read my book.

Read to your children or grandchildren this seven page short story by James Thurber.  It is delightful.  But do not read it in advance of your story-telling session.  Let the surprises be shared with everyone.  https://ManyMoons1.wordpress.com

The anthropic principle elevates our existence to the highest level of importance in the entire cosmos.   It implies that we are the goal of the universe's existence; it leads to the conclusion that the universe has no meaning without us and that points to a purposeful creator.
And this in and of itself, is a clear indication that the universe exists for our sake.  - Dr. Zainab

Gentlemen, let me address you on a very important subject, which should cause ladies to smile and nod.

I thank the Lord daily, several times in fact, for bringing me across the country to meet and marry my angel, with whom I celebrated a Golden Anniversary.

I was kind, but not kind enough.  I was loving, but not loving enough.  Don't be stupid, like I was.  Be the best boyfriend your lady could ask for, and then be the best husband.  Women are wonderful, loving and kind.  Men fill prisons.
You will look back on your finest deeds with pride and joy.  You will look back on your selfish mistakes and shake your head...WHY?

Compliment and help others, every day.  It rewards in both directions.

What a searing indictment on the religious bigotry of our librarians who are well stocked with books by atheists ridiculing America’s Christian heritage and birthright.
.

“… ideas which divide one group of human beings from another, only to unite them in slaughter, generally have their roots in religion.’ – Sam Harris, page 98  The Irrational Atheist, by Vox Day

(The three-volume compendium, Encyclopedia of Wars… categorizes only 6.98 percent of the 1,763 wars chronicled as religious wars.) – page 104, 105 [Ibid]

Profound Fortuitous Interdependencies is a phrase I created for my book to describe wonders surrounding every person on earth.  We take them for granted just because they are there and most people don't realize their brilliant creation.

The formula for starch is  ( C₆H₁₀O₅)n
Cellulose has this same formula but in a straight chain, without coiling or branching.

This is the structure of cellulose, drawn such that there is a carbon atom at every pair of lines intersecting at an angle, and each carbon atom is saturated with a sufficient number of hydrogen atoms to form four bonds.
Parenthesis indicates a repeating link of this long-term chain.

The formula for glucose is   C₆H₁₂O₆ .

Glycogen is a branched polymer of glucose where n can range from a few thousand to a hundred thousand.

The formula for sucrose, common sugar, is C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ .

These complex compounds are all carbohydrates, meaning composed of carbon (dioxide) and water - free in our atmosphere.

What can you make from water and air?  Plants make the food that sustains almost every living creature - food that recycles itself, at no charge, using sunlight, also at no charge to us.  Give thanks to the Brilliant Creator daily for His many Profound Fortuitous Interdependencies, made possible only by complex combinations of very different things and processes.

You have often heard the phrase, "Air holds more water when.."  Nonsense.

The vapor pressure of water is independent of the amount of air as seen in this graph. Standard air pressure is 760 Torr (mm of mercury) which equals 14.7 psi.

The vapor pressure of water at 25 degrees is 23.8 Torr with zero air, or with normal atmospheric pressure.

Water don't care about air!

Water is one of many Brilliant Creations.  There are many reasons why.  My book explores a few of them.  Unfortunately I did not research this point when I wrote my book and add it there.  (Graph from chatgpt.com)  It was never taught in any of my chemical engineering classes.  I think it should have been.

Civilization and modern life as we know and enjoy them exist only because of the Profound Fortuitous Interdependencies surrounding and enabling us.  One of those is communications.  While ants, bees, and animals of all kinds communicate, they are not remotely in the same category as us humans.  Only we have books, recordings and videos to pass on our limitless discoveries in perpetuity through profoundly deep verbal skills.  Only we use radio waves and fiberoptics to convert and transmit sights, sounds and data anywhere in the world, almost instantaneously.  Our ancestors two thousand, one thousand, even one hundred years ago could not possibly have imagined all the technology and accumulated knowledge we have today.

It stands to reason that we cannot possibly imagine the advanced technology and information awaiting us in our Creator's Realm.  We will telepath with history's greatest and wisest effortlessly, as we do here on a coast-to-coast cell phone call.

My beloved wife always planned our vacations meticulously. It was her favorite pastime, I do believe, taking vacations in Europe.  So on the Greek island of Santorini, toward sunset, she said, "Let's go down to the rocks and watch the sunset over the lagoon."  Our two daughters, Erin and Teri, were 15 and 10 respectively.  We were alone as we sat on the promontory watching the sun go down except for two American boys, in their twenties, just fifteen feet away from us, talking extremely vulgar language with their girlfriends.

I threw down quickly with the protective determination of a husband and father.  "Either you two will shut that up that foul language or else I will come over there and shut you up!"  One replied, "Why are you listening to us?"
"Well it's pretty hard not to hear you when you're so close.  Now if I have to come over there, I'm going to hurt you."

They shut up.  It was easier for them to back down than for me to, because they were wrong. I was dead serious and ready to take them both on.    More decent people need to stand up and teach lessons that are sorely needed.

I think of this dull, unimaginative tool every time someone insists that man will never reach the stars.

Humans will never reach even the nearest star, four light years distant.  It took one of our space probes eleven years to leave our solar system.  If we were to speed up by a factor of ten, that would be 1.1 years.  That means it would require about 8,000 years to get to Alpha Centauri, 4.34 light years.  If we speed up by a factor of one hundred, it would take 800 years.  Nobody wants to travel that badly and die en route.  Besides, we do not live on any star.  We live on a planet.  Planets with features like ours are quite rare and unlikely to be found circling the closest stars.

R.I.P., Digital Equipment Corporation.

If they sold their Alpha (RISC) processor (acquired by HP) in the back of Computer Shopper magazine, they'd still be in business.  The Windows NT4 install CD has a folder for installation on a system with an Alpha processor, as well for a PowerPC (RISC) processor.

CISC processors (Intel/AMD i386) won the 1990s because they allowed for a decentralized, open ecosystem that could adapt and progress more rapidly than closed RISC processor systems sold by IBM, DEC, Wang, and Sun Microsystems.

'Never' is a word used by those who fear failure.  Innovators don't fear failure, they embrace it.  'Failure' is a boundary to be crossed, a mountain to be climbed, a frontier to explore, and a wilderness to be tamed.

Voyager 1 travels at 38,210 miles per hour.

38,210¹⁰ is what speeding up by a factor of ten would be and that would be 6,633,922,244,353,631,530,722,098,806,688,562,010,000,000,000 mph, which would far exceed the speed of light which is only 670,616,629 mph.

"A factor of 10" is 10 TIMES the number, NOT the number to the TENTH POWER.

It's too far, and humans will not be around long enough to achieve the fantasmagoric stuff you predict.
Getting anywhere is no guarantee of a habitable planet anywhere nearby the star.  And why?  Totally pointless.

The current limits of our imgination, intellect, and technology should not impede future progress by future generations that haven't been born yet.

Otherwise, 'never' becomes an implement of inter-generational tryanny by the current generation against future generations.

Our current ignorance should not shackle future generations.

"Ignorance" refers to the lack of understanding of the:

A.  Logistics of fuel, food, water, and oxygen that would be required to make the trip, even one way only, and at the speed of light,

B.  The presence of anything habitable remotely close to Proxima Centauri,

C.  The utility of anything there to be found given B.

You people have been watching too much Star Trek.

Mathematically:

fuel to reach 𝑐 / fuel to reach 33,000 mph = ∞

So the ratio is undefined / infinite.

Even:

90% of c requires thousands of times more energy

99.9% of c requires millions of times more

100% of c requires infinite energy

But with your infinite "Imagination," you could do it, right?

When you get there, call us.  We'll all be chillin'.

Lots of snow and ice all across our northern states, and this means slick roads.  You have all seen footage of cars and trucks locking up all wheels and skidding out of control.  If they had thought in advance, "I will release my brakes so at least I will be able to steer," they could have minimized damage or eliminated it altogether.  I did up on Big Bear Mountain, San Bernardino County, one winter.  Instead of crunching into the back bumper of a late model Jaguar, II let off the brakes and steered into a large snowbank on the right shoulder.  Zero damage to the family station wagon.

The road up to  Big Bear can be pretty scary this time of year....before we were married, Mrs. Liberty used to drive it.
I don’t owe tolerance to people who disagree with my existence.
I will NOT comply.
