MeganC, beautiful and smart!

"Feminine" is a one-word oxymoron

So is "gay," and "transgender," and "art."

Now where was I?  Oh yes, "thought for the day."

"For the world is in a bad state, but everything will become still worse unless each of us does his best.” -― Viktor Frankl, Holocaust Survivor, Psychiatrist, Neurologist

"The success of Darwinism was accompanied by a decline in scientific integrity.
This situation, where scientific men rally to the defence of a doctrine they are unable to define scientifically, much less demonstrate with scientific rigour, attempting to maintain its credit with the public by the suppression of criticism and the elimination of difficulties, is abnormal and undesirable in science." - Professor W. R. Thompson, Introduction to the 1956 reprint of 'The Origin of Species: The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life'

“Flight by machines heavier than air is unpractical and insignificant, if not utterly impossible.” - Simon Newcomb, 1902   (Astronomer, Professor of Mathematics for US Navy and polymath, eighteen months before Kitty Hawk.)

It is the arrogance of every generation to assume that everything that can be invented or accomplished has already been invented or accomplished.

A few years after this man declared aircraft to be an impossibility the mainstream of "rational" people were denouncing the advent of rocketry as quackery and saying that only fools would take it seriously.

In our time the naysayers reflexively crap on every new thing that comes along only to eventually embrace them and then act as if they supported it all along.

Small minds.

The current example I lean into are the people who yuck it up at any mention of UFO/UAP issues. Even though there are now reputable people with tangible evidence such as radar tracks and Pentagon-confirmed video and images they can't help but ridicule and blather about 'aliens'.

Myself, I am convinced the things are real. But I assume an earthly origin, perhaps our own government.

The U2 and SR-71 spyplanes used to be secret and people who sighted them were denounced as cranks or nuts even though they'd seen something quite real.

So it wouldn't surprise me if a branch of the military has these things and they get accidentally sighted on occasion.

But the small minds who have to automatically react to these reports? They'll one day join the ranks of other small minds like Simon Newcomb.

I''ll happily crap on all of it.
Rocketry and flight included.
Way too expensive, to this day.
with very little benefit.

The sweet spot was back a ways.

As to UFOs... Of course they are real. You can't lay on a mountain top in the dark night and believe otherwise.
And there is way more than that.

Socialism is precisely the religion which; must overwhelm Christianity.   … In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches and the media by transforming the consciousness of society. – Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937, Marxist, founder of the Italian Communist Party)

Wisdom is defined as the ability to use your knowledge and experience to make good decisions and judgments. Did Bernie Madoff, Harvey Weinstein, Jeffrey Epstein, Phil Spector, and so many other rich, famous, and well-educated people apply their hearts unto wisdom?   No. Instead, they demonstrated the truth of “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul.” (Mark 8:36) - Science of the Bible, by John Phillip Jaeger, page 25 - 26

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I –
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

C.S Lewis proved that natural laws do not cause actual natural events.
He gives an analogy of two balls on a billiard table, on a lurching liner. One hits another. They move according to the law of motion. However, the law of motion does not itself move the balls.
So what about the strong winds that caused the ship to lurch? These too, move according to the laws of nature but are not actually moved by those laws.
Atheists have not yet come close, to providing a coherent or even comprehensible ‘explanation’ for the world existing. – Nadeem Arif

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

The vaunted "self-correcting mechanism" of science, so often cited by condescending atheists, intent on demonstrating their *intellectualism*, required over 2,000 years to dispel Aristotle's (384-322 BC)  "luminiferous ether" theory when Michelson and Morley performed a light experiment in 1887. - John Phillip Jaeger

And the same 'solution' offered for preventing an ice age is the same 'solution' offered for preventing global warming.

Global socialism coupled with deindustrialization of the West.

The goal of the revolution is always the solution to the problem, the left just needs to find a problem to justify their solution.

Atheism Science Stopper Belief 1:
The universe has been created by the blind, brute forces of matter and energy without any intelligent involvement.
_______________________

If scientists actually followed this belief in practice they would expect the universe to be disorderly and chaotic.

Instead scientists assume rational explanations will be found to all the enigmas of time and space.

We have every right to expect a rationally describable universe if it has been created by a rational agent, i.e. God.

It is however totally irrational to expect rational laws to emerge from chance interactions of matter and energy. – Nadeem Arif

"Religion has always been central to our national identity. Religious references do not violate the First Amendment, which was never intended to bar all religious expression or discussion from national discourse. James Madison himself, the author of the First Amendment, was sworn in with his left hand on the Bible. So was George Washington, and, I believe, every president since. The Ten Commandments provide the very foundation of our nation's legal code. They also make up the basis of the moral values that thankfully guide us in our everyday lives." --Lawrence Kudlow

Yikes!  I think I’d better go back on posts responding to my comments. I suspect there were times I should have been offended and didn’t realize it.

No. I posted a flatly factual comment and you got all dramatic about it. What I said is a sound hypothesis for why the bullet contrail was so visible.

The drama? That's all you.

No it was NOT "flatly factual."  Not remotely.
Here is a science lesson which you need to read and understand.

You HAD no "hypothesis," and what you said was very far from sound.

1.  Water is so transparent that light can pass through 200 feet of it and transmit clear images to our eyes.
2.  Tell all your readers how much skin and flesh, in feet, can transmit clear images to our eyes.   Take your time and be specific. Cite some examples.

Had I said something so foolish and unscientific as you did, I would apologize.  But instead of doing that, you double down.
The attempted assassination was very serious.  It has captivated America daily since.  I offered the original thought of the first photographed non-water vapor contrail, and you tried to one-up me with your childish antics and then have the temerity to accuse Me of "drama."  I have no more time to read anything you say after you wrote such silliness.
You got in way over your head, young lady.  Way over.  Anyone who thinks that you added anything of value is obviously with you in the intellectual category of AOC.  I do not suffer fools gladly.
ciao brutto
