Ukhta is about 900 miles NE of Moscow, which is ~250 miles NE from Ukraine. The fire may be due to "incompetence" (is that a euphemism for drunkenness?), but it certainly inconveniences the fuel-thirsty war effort and the Russian economy generally.

The full name of the Russian city is Rostov on Don. Suchomimus has nicknamed it "Rostov on Drone", an obvious allusion.

The "Turtle Tank" destroyed in the video above is abandoned, evidenced by its lack of movement and the open crew hatch through which the drone flew inside the tank. What frequently happens with Russian tanks is they get disabled by a mine near battle lines, where neither Ukrainians nor Russians can recover the disabled tanks. The Russian crew skedaddles, not wanting to stay in a stationary target, leaving hatches open, and Ukrainians use drones to finish off the tanks, rendering them not worth recovering.

In early April, a Russian assault group attacked positions held by the Ukrainian 12th Azov Brigade outside Terny, just west of Kreminna in eastern Ukraine.

The assault ended in the usual way. Blasted by mines and harried by Ukrainian first-person-view drones, the Russian survivors abandoned their vehicles and fled back toward their own lines, a few hundred yards to the east.

What was special was what they left behind: a nearly intact—and brand-new—T-72B3M tank sporting one of the bulkiest and, in theory, most effective anti-drone radio jammers anyone had seen in Russia’s wider war on Ukraine.

The 12th Azov Brigade mounted a daring three-night mission to inspect, repair and recover the 51-ton T-72. Two months later, the two-year-old T-72 has been inspected, stripped of its jammers, fixed up, repainted with 12th Azov Brigade markings—and assigned to the same tank battalion that helped steal it.

It’s one of two captured T-72B3Ms in service with the 12th Azov Brigade. The Ukrainians have nicknamed it “Tsar Tank” or “Tsar E.W.”—for “electronic warfare.”

Ukraine hit a refinery and an oil depot in two regions of Russia with drones

On the night of June 6, Ukrainian drones attacked the facilities of the fuel and energy complex (FEC) in two regions of Russia.

In the Rostov region, a drone hit an oil refinery (refinery) in Novoshakhtinsk, which caused a fire, said the governor of the region Vasily Golubev.

"According to preliminary data, the fire spread over an area of 50 square meters at the NZNP, about 120 people and 15 pieces of equipment were involved in the extinguishing," Golubev said. At the same time, due to the repeated attack of the drone, the fire extinguishing had to be stopped.

According to the Shot telegram channel, the attack took place at the beginning of the second night. Several loud explosions were heard in the city at once, after which eyewitnesses saw smoke and a pillar of fire in the area of the refinery.

Later, Golubev said that the fire at the refinery was localized on an area of 100 square meters.

Prior to that, the Novoshakhtinsk refinery was attacked by Ukrainian drones in March. Then, due to the strikes, the technological facilities of the enterprise were stopped. Two more attacks on the plant occurred in June 2022 and May 2023.

In turn, in the Belgorod region, a Ukrainian kamikaze drone attacked an oil depot near Stary Oskol, said the governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov. "As a result of the explosion, one of the tanks caught fire. Four fire crews promptly extinguished the fire. The blast wave shattered the windows in the security building. There were no casualties," Gladkov said.

Over the past month, at least five Russian refineries have been subjected to drone attacks. So, on May 9, a drone attacked the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat enterprise in the city of Salavat in Bashkiria. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the building of the pumping station was damaged.  .  .
