House passes bipartisan bill striking down Biden's Chinese solar handout

Biden's move protecting Chinese solar makers is 'demonstration of weakness from an already spineless administration,' House Majority Whip Tom Emmer tells Fox News Digital

By Thomas Catenacci | Fox News

The House voted Friday morning in favor of striking down President Biden's action last year which allows Chinese solar panel manufacturers to avoid Obama-era tariffs.

In a 221-202 vote, the House approved the resolution with 209 Republicans and 12 Democrats voting in favor. A bipartisan group of lawmakers led by Rep. Bill Posey, R-Fla., and joined by Rep. Dan Kildee, D-Mich., first introduced the resolution in January, arguing tariffs were necessary to protect the fledgling U.S. solar industry which is dwarfed by Chinese industry.

"Joe Biden’s decision to protect Communist China’s solar manufacturers from U.S. tariffs is another demonstration of weakness from an already spineless administration," House Majority Whip Tom Emmer, R-Minn., told Fox News Digital.

"House Republicans are continuing to lead where the White House has failed in holding China accountable by working across the aisle to nullify this absurd rule," he continued.

Biden vetoes bipartisan bill protecting US solar panel makers from Chinese competition
'The president’s position, and today’s veto, fails to hold China accountable and hurts American workers,' Democratic lawmaker says

President Biden vetoed a bipartisan resolution Tuesday that would have reversed his executive action last year ordering the Department of Commerce not to enforce tariffs on Chinese solar panel manufacturers for two years.

Biden explained that the legislation — which recently passed the House and Senate with Democratic support — "bets against American innovation." Last year, Biden implemented the 24-month moratorium on the enforcement of solar panel anti-circumvention tariffs designed to protect U.S. companies, a move the White House said would facilitate investment in domestic solar panel production capabilities.

"Passage of this resolution bets against American innovation," Biden said in a statement Tuesday. "It would undermine these efforts and create deep uncertainty for American businesses and workers in the solar industry. Therefore, I am vetoing this resolution."  ...

"I am disappointed that President Biden vetoed this important legislation," (Rep. Dan) Kildee said Tuesday. "Failing to stand up to those who engage in unfair trade practices hurts American workers and manufacturers. Our workers and businesses will never be able to compete globally unless we hold those who violate U.S. trade laws accountable."

"The president’s position, and today’s veto, fails to hold China accountable and hurts American workers," the Democratic lawmaker continued.  ...

Joe protecting the Chinese AND their desire for world dominion.  While American disabled Americans are kicked out onto the street.  Morons gave Joe that power, shamelessly.  How is this better than Trump in office?

No one said it would be 'better'.

What isn't better is big government from the Right.
Egregious betrayal of fiscal conservatism, and with it, libertarianism.
A violation of epic proportions. The greatest in the history of this country.
Those are hard lines.
That cannot be rewarded with another term.
