Three soldiers were killed and another injured when two AH-64 Apache helicopters collided and crashed Thursday near Healy, Alaska, according to the Army.

The helicopters belonged to the 1st Attack Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment at Fort Wainwright, and were returning from a training mission, the Army said in a news release.

Two soldiers were declared dead at the scene and a third died en route to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, where the fourth soldier is being treated for injuries, the release said.

The names of the soldiers who died are being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified, the Army said.

Two US Army Apaches crash in Alaska, the third domestic military helicopter crash in three months

Two United States Army helicopters crashed as they returned from a training flight near Healy, Alaska, according to Fox News.

The crash is the second accident involving military helicopters in Alaska in approximately two months and the third domestic military helicopter crash since February 2023.

Each AH-64 Apache was carrying two people, according to U.S. Army Alaska spokesperson John Pennell. The spokesperson did not provide any additional information about the medical condition of the flight crew members.

Live in  harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

Here's a politically-incorrect question for ya:
Who was piloting those helicopters?

Each Apache has a crew of 2. With one survivor out of four, odds are 75% that the pilots both died in the crash.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.
