China has claimed to have successfully cloned three “super cows” that are larger and produce more milk than common cows.

Lead scientist Jin Yaping told Chinese outlet Global Times that the plan now is to concentrate cloned super cows into a herd that can help break China’s reliance on cattle imported from other countries.
 
“We plan to take two to three years to build up a herd comprised of over 1,000 super cows, as a solid foundation to tackle China’s reliance on overseas dairy cows and the issue of the risk of being ‘choked,’” Jin said.

What could possibly go wrong?

I bet those cows consume more to produce more milk.  Is the quality and nutrition value of the milk maintained?  Or, are they producing skim milk?

Well, that's over 11 gallons of milk a day per cow (roughly double normal output).

It's either udder genius, or they are lying.

The conspiracy theorist streak in me more thinks of a "Mad Cow" genetic infliction scenario unfolding.

Get a few into the breeding stock, and boom.....

Whoa, whoa!!  Are they going have to burp deflectors on them, fart suppressors, have fans to disburse the methane?  This is another example of the Chicoms not caring about the fragile environment! All the killer cows will about double their devastating gasses :whistle:
