You cannot "COEXIST" with people who want to kill you.
If they kill their own with no conscience, there is nothing to stop them from killing you.
Rational fear and anger at vicious murderous Islamic terrorists is the same as irrational antisemitism, according to the Leftists

I'm old school, I started coding in 72 w/USAF~SAL/PAL (System Assembly Language/Program Assembly Language) on a Univac 1050-II.  It usually involved Punch card operators/Sorters and a Reader in the Computer Room.

I later wrote in a variety of RPG's and JCL, dabbled in COBOL.

Hat's off!  I learned me a little ASM on my old Atari 800 back in the day.  Also taught myself some COBOL, mainly because a really cute girl in college was trying to pass one of her business classes, and they had to write a short program in COBOL.  Otherwise, dabbled in FORTRAN, Pascal, .NET (via powershell), javascript, and PHP.

I always wanted to pick up ASM.

I came in with DOS... Maybe DOS 3 or so, and became a certifiable batch queen... to include mastery of DEBUG... and BASIC, which is where I cut my coding teeth. But I fell into Pascal, and loved Delphi, and still do.

I forgot all about BASIC - the Atari version thereof!  I used to buy Compute! magazine and type in the Atari version of the games they published.

I still remember the horrors of DOS EDLIN in trying to manage that hidden memory space between 720K and 1024K.

Not me. It all started for me when my soon-to-be mother in law (now ex MIL) gave me a  busted HP 386SX, and my tinker instinct took over. That machine is why I (book) learned DOS, found how to boot from a disk, found out how/what to edit... and no sh*t, found a pie recipe in config.sys, and fixed it.

And that's all I do to this day... And everything I have written/published is toward that end... Hacking the system... Got cocky hacking over the net, got caught, and nearly did time. So I went back to Hands-On... which is usually kinda legal, sorta.

The first computer I used was an early PDP-11.  The CPU and peripherals took up an entire lab in 1975.
