Sandhill crane hunting- anyone done it?
« on: November 26, 2022, 11:26:28 am »
Has anyone gone sandhill crane hunting?
A group of us have decided to go freeze our butts off in January to go sandhill crane hunting in northwest Texas.  This will be the first time for any of us.  I had to purchase a 12 gauge auto shotgun and some Hevishot high powered shells for the shoot.  The video I saw on youtube the dogs wear goggles, because the cranes will try to peck the dogs eyes out.
Sounds like an adventure...lol.

Seventeen Techniques for Truth Suppression

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I like a good snipe hunt.
You don’t become cooler with age but you do care progressively less about being cool, which is the only true way to actually be cool.

Ok, it sounded like an adventure till I read the last part about dogs needing to wear goggles because the cranes will peck their eyes out.  Yikes!
