House Republicans on Monday demanded data from the Biden administration regarding the number of border jumpers who are being prosecuted as illegal immigrants.

In a letter addressed to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Attorney General Merrick Garland, 14 House Republicans sent a letter requesting specific data points from the administration, including how many aliens DHS has referred to DOJ for prosecution.

"Since January 2021, more than 1.8 million aliens entered the United States illegally, were apprehended by Border Patrol at the Southwest border, and processed under Title 8," the letter read. "Given the Biden Administration's open borders policies and consistent lack of enforcement of immigration laws, we request that you provide us information regarding your respective Departments' efforts to prosecute aliens entering the country illegally."

The legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods, or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg.
