Nations will hold exercises from today until September 1 in major war games

The exercises will involve aircraft, warships, tanks and thousands of troops

Joint war games are known as 'Ulchi Freedom Shield' which take place annually

But intensity of exercises has ramped up this year following Covid-19 pandemic

Comes amid period of increased frequency in missile testing from North Korea
