h/t Breitbart; In the face of last month’s UN warning that 49 million people in 43 countries face severe risk of starvation, the New Zealand Government has chosen now to introduce a new climate change food tax.

Climate change: New Zealand’s plan to tax cow and sheep burps

By Peter Hoskins
BBC News

New Zealand has unveiled a plan to tax sheep and cattle burps in a bid to tackle one of the country’s biggest sources of greenhouse gases.

It would make it the first nation to charge farmers for the methane emissions from the animals they keep.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Buy what you can now folks!  Perhaps a global tax on meat and food is coming? OR -- could we see a limit placed on households as to how much food they can purchase?

I know it sounds ridiculous, but this tax is indicative of the times.

Also -- perhaps this is what the Russia invasion on Ukraine is in part about -- striking to create a food shortage; all by design??

Lest it be tedious, under the Patriot Act (one of the reasons I was opposed to it) the government can, in times of emergency (and when is it not?), seize food supplies.

I had no idea.  Thanks for the info.
