Marine Corps Considers Abandoning Parris Island Amid Rising Extreme Weather Threats

The Marine Corps is considering moving some of its bases to other locations, including the iconic Parris Island Training Depot, in response to the growing effects of climate change, Navy officials said.

"I'm aware that there are conversations in the Marine Corps about the possibility of moving bases right now," Meredith Berger, the assistant secretary of the Navy for Environment, Installations and Energy, told reporters on a call Monday when asked about moving the Parris Island facility.

"We are seeing some real impacts there in terms of its geography, in terms of ... impacts that we've seen in storms, water impacts," Berger explained, speaking specifically about Parris Island, before adding that "they're usually in the path of a storm there."

The Marines surrendering based on THREATS?  Boy, Berger is taking the corps down the wrong path, but probably the correct path for Biden.

Ok,so where else are they going to go that provides them with the coastal and marshy areas they need to train in to be competent in order to be able to accomplish their stated missions?

Somewhere with beaches that are NOT threatened with stormy weather.

And HOW is the US Navy going to be able to practice supporting the beach landings with Naval gunfire.

It will take one BIG-ass tractor and trailer to haul a carrier or battleship to Idaho.

Not to mention how much it would cost to import all the water needed to float those bad boys.

Is there some Dim governor,congresscritter,or Senator that needs to have a base in his home state so he or she can skim some more money?
