First Liberty Lawyer: Ketanji Brown Jackson Can’t Uphold Constitution if She Thinks It’s Racist

Keisha Toni Russell, a constitutional lawyer at First Liberty Institute, testified Thursday in opposition of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson’s nomination for the Supreme Court, arguing that her support of Critical Race Theory means she would not be able to uphold the Constitution if she believes it is racist.

This so called 'confirmation' is all for show anyway. Everybody knows she is a radical hard-racist Marxist Black Supremacist who will always rule to the far far far-Left, even to out of bounds of the law, on everything. If she could, she would abolish the White people Constitution (all of it), and she would abolish all police and all prisons. She has said indirectly, "Nobody deserves to go to jail." She is for chaos and anarchy leading to the fall of the racist White Patriarchal societal structure of the United States.

There really is no need for questions. Everybody already knows who and what she is. She is a radical Black racist anarchist. So, you either vote for that or not. But days of questioning is a total waste of time.

Another poster brought up the point on another thread that this nomination still needs majority vote  to get out of committee. Committee is split 11-11, and will require one GOP defection to get a Senate vote.  Two hard core RINO's could potentially go that way, but after Turtle gave his thumbs down yesterday, we might get lucky.

The bigger question is which GOP Senators sell out.
If a political party does not have its foundation in the determination to advance a cause that is right and that is moral, then it is not a political party; it is merely a conspiracy to seize power.     -Dwight Eisenhower-

Even if they all hold tight, it's 50/50 and Heels-up breaks the tie.  But it will tell us who needs to be beaten if someone does cave to the Rats.

Heels-up can't break the tie.

Quote
Back during the Trump administration, Professor Laurence Tribe outlined the constitutional argument against the Vice President’s power to break a Senate deadlocked over a Supreme Court nomination. While the Constitution is clear that the Vice President can cast a deciding vote to break ties over legislation, Tribe noted that the text does not extend this power to the Senate’s “advise and consent” role in confirming nominees. Everyone’s favorite hip-hop Founder Alexander Hamilton even said as much in Federalist No. 69: “In the national government, if the Senate should be divided, no appointment could be made” contrasting the Constitution with state governments that do allow the executive to break ties on their own appointments.

So it will take at least one Republican vote to make it happen.

Romney seems the most likely.

Black women feel sting of ‘traumatizing’ Jackson hearings
By AARON MORRISON and LISA MASCARO2 hours ago

NEW YORK (AP) — “Senator,” she said, letting out an audible sigh.

In that singular moment, Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson spoke for countless Black women who have had to gather all the patience, strength and grace within to answer insinuating questions about their credentials, qualifications and character.

It was Day One of questioning at the Senate Judiciary Committee as the Harvard-educated Jackson, the first Black woman to be nominated for the nation’s highest court, was making history.

The federal judge had to endure hours of public scrutiny from skeptics, namely the Republican senators who are erecting a wall of opposition to her landmark nomination, the first in the court’s 233-year history, and may vote en bloc against her confirmation.

“It was really traumatizing to watch,” said Melanie L. Campbell, president and CEO of the National Coalition on Black Civic Participation and convener of the Black Women’s Roundtable.

Ben Sasse to Vote ‘No’ on Jackson’s Supreme Court Nomination, Threatening Judiciary Committee’s Approval

Senate Judiciary Committee member Ben Sasse (R-NE) announced Friday night he will vote “no” on Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court nomination, threatening the committee’s approval of the judge.

If a majority of Judiciary Committee members do not vote to approve Jackson’s nomination, the vote may result in an 11-11 tie between Republicans and Democrats, forwarding her nomination to the Senate floor with additional procedural steps, meaning the nomination does not have the committee’s recommendation, which under other circumstances is often fatal.

The nomination still needs to get out of committee.  Once it gets out of committee, confirmation was a given.

Senate panel deadlocks on Jackson’s Supreme Court nomination

The Senate Judiciary Committee deadlocked on Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Supreme Court nomination in a Monday vote, the panel’s first tie on a high court pick since 1991.

Senators voted 11-11 on sending Jackson’s nomination to the full Senate, with the vote breaking down along party lines. The evenly split committee is one of the byproducts of the 50-50 Senate.

It’s the first committee tie vote on a Supreme Court nominee since Justice Clarence Thomas’s nomination.

The split vote doesn’t sink Jackson’s nomination, but it will require the Senate to formally discharge her nomination from committee. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) is expected to move to do so later Monday, the first time a Supreme Court nominee has had to be discharged from committee since 1853.

Jackson is the first Black female Supreme Court nominee to appear before the committee. If confirmed as expected, she’ll be the first Black woman on the nation’s highest court.

“This committee action today is nothing less than making history,” said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee.
