Oil Prices Break $130 As EU And U.S. Allies Consider Ban On Russian Crude

The United States has confirmed that it is in talks with European allies to potentially sanction Russian crude oil in response to Moscow's ongoing aggression in Ukraine, sending oil prices briefly above $130.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken noted on Sunday during the NBC talk show Meet the Press on Sunday, “We are now in very active discussions with our European partners about banning the import of Russian oil to our countries, while of course at the same time maintaining a steady global supply of oil."

The latest considerations follow a stream of sanctions that have already had a significant impact on the Russian economy but have not yet been able to halt Putin's advance into Ukraine.

Blinken clearly does not understand the basic economic concept of expectation.  His announcement that he is "considering" a ban is enough to drive the price up.  Stop talking like an idiot.  Come up with a backup to replace the supply, then enact the ban.  You may find that prices actually go down once the world sees that there won't be any shortage.

But that would require actual leadership.  And leadership is non-existent with this White House.

FL is sitting right around $4.00.  I don't really think it matters if it's a red or blue state.  Gas prices are soaring.

Buttigieg says you don’t have to worry about gas prices if you buy an electric vehicle...someone should remind him how out of touch he sounds

Well DAYUM!  I'll go out and buy one right now.  That way, I'll never have to worry about the price of gas again.  Never mind that tens of thousands of Americans are about to lose their jobs because higher fuel costs just priced their jobs out of the market.

Idiot.

Ilhan Omar hammers Biden over reports WH may ask Saudis to pump more oil
'This is wildly immoral act,' Omar wrote
By Houston Keene | Fox News

"Squad" Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., hammered President Biden over reports that the White House may ask Saudi Arabia to pump more oil amid the war in Ukraine.

Omar took aim at the possibility of White House meetings with the Saudis, calling the potential exploration of a deal "immoral" and pointing to the Saudi government’s treatment of the Yemeni people amid the countries’ war with each other.

"Our response to Putin’s immoral war shouldn’t be to strengthen our relationship with the Saudis who are currently causing the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet in Yemen," Omar tweeted.

Psaki claims Keystone XL Pipeline would make no difference for rising gas prices
The average US gas price hit a new record high of more than $4 a gallon on Monday

By Jon Brown FOXBusiness

White House press secretary Jen Psaki suggested Monday that the Keystone XL Pipeline, the construction of which President Biden canceled on his first day in office, would not have made a difference in the nation's skyrocketing gas prices.

Psaki made the claim in response to questions from Fox News White House correspondent Peter Doocy, who asked her why the Biden administration is seemingly blaming Russian President Vladimir Putin for rising U.S. gas prices, which hit a new record high of $4.104 on Monday, surpassing the previous record of $4.103 set in 2008, according to data from GasBuddy.

"Weren't gas prices going up anyway because of post-pandemic supply chain issues?" Doocy asked.

Citing unnamed "outside analysts," Psaki replied that "the increase and anticipated continued increase" of gas prices is "a direct result of the invasion of Ukraine."

Mayor Pete said today that people struggling with rising gas prices should solve their issue by buying electric cars. In related news, homeless people should also just buy houses so they aren’t homeless any longer. Thanks for the tips, Marie Antoinette.

Stupid nonsense. Gas prices were skyrocketing since the day Grampa Poopy Pants took office. Although we all knew this would happen, we now know more than ever why Brandon was so emphatic and persistent pushing Russia to invade.

From now on every goofy stupid idiotic problem Poopy Pants has created even a year ago will all be blamed on Ukraine. This is what the Democrats have always had in mind as a replacement for the COVID bogeyman.

Yeah, right.  Replacing tailpipe emissions with powerplant emissions is not "zero emissions".

True, but that doesn't account for skyrocketing electric bills.  Those bills won't stay the same - somebody has to pay for all of the additional electric generating capacity - and so the savings are more illusory than real.

And what do people in apartments do for charging? Use the non existent infrastructure at their complex, and then there is the overloaded grid and diminished generating capacity because of elimination of fossil fueled generating facilities. What do people whose job entails long distance driving, like oh say truckers. He will probably tell us that we will just have to suck it up and sacrifice until the unicorn fart dispensers are installed.

I was back last May. Unfortunately, a lot of geosteering work is going from on site to remote, and the market is actually shrinking for my skill set, so far. Still, I have been fairly busy.

Some places just aren't amenable to electrics, and the sooner the 'green' (snotnose) crowd recognizes that, the better.

They will never accept it, their response would be that apartment dwellers will just have to make sacrifices of sleep or personal time to use public charging stations at off peak hours. You know the sacrifices of the many proletariat for self satisfaction of  the bourgeoisie.
