Yes. It is just 3rd way socialism dressed up in a whits lab coat.
I swear they just keep hitting the replay button.
Problem is, they are picking their winners and losers based on false premises. It doesn't have to be true to make them money (as if they really need more), it just has to seem to work (what propaganda is for), and when it doesn't, that can make them money, too.
In the meantime, accounts exist of people still being strung up from lampposts in Berlin during the closing days of the Second World War in Europe, even as the sound of Allied artillery grew louder, for being "defeatist".
The key is owning the means of promoting all this garbage, and that is where the Orwellian media come into play.
It seems I have heard the words "scientific socialism" before. And if their version of science is wrong (Lysenko), you get another Holdomor to save 'face', and even if you don't--millions,
somewhere, will starve.
The whole Green New Deal is one such fallacy, and the next Holdomor, should these people be allowed to persist, will be over energy. People will die from heat or, more likely, freeze to death, while these people are selling EVs to the urbane masses. When that is imposed, conventional energy sources (ones which have worked in the past: "fossil fuels") will be valued at dimes or pennies (if that) on the dollar, and the pendulum will swing back with a new group of Rockefellers at the helm...
For the life of me, I can't see even wanting that much money, but then, I guess decadence and psychosis come at a hefty price tag, at least for some. The difference may be that I don't want to rule the world. This world is temporary for us, and while we might be able to make it a better place for our progeny, even that would pale in comparison to what awaits.
To me, the greatest cost, in real terms, is the gift Almighty God gave each of us, the loss of the freedom to choose our course in this life to serve Him or not, as we will, with whatever awaits our eternal soul as a result of our actions, but more importantly, our beliefs, our faith. I have but one King, and do not need nor desire these vassals to try and tell me how to live.
With this in mind, I will do what my limited abilities allow. I will patronize the unwoke, which is little more than a reversed social credit scoring (which we do anyway, to some degree, by boycotting those who support philosophies which are not in alignment with our own). But we need a way to bring the large players in this down.
