I don't see the leftists allowing this to happen, but another point in the plus column for Greene.

Marjorie Taylor Greene introduces bill to award Congressional Gold Medal to Rittenhouse

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) introduced a bill on Tuesday to award Kyle Rittenhouse the Congressional Gold Medal for "protecting the community of Kenosha, Wisconsin, during a Black Lives Matter (BLM) riot on August 25, 2020."

The Congressional Gold Medal is the highest honor Congress can award an individual or institution. It is highly unlikely the bill will go anywhere in the Democratic-controlled House and Senate, and it has no co-sponsors.

Rittenhouse, who fatally shot two protesters in Kenosha and wounded a third, was acquitted last week by a jury of all charges, including intentional homicide.

"Kyle Rittenhouse deserves to be remembered as a hero who defended his community, protected businesses, and acted lawfully in the face of lawlessness. I’m proud to file this legislation to award Kyle Rittenhouse a Congressional Gold Medal," Greene said in a statement to The Hill.

Conservatives have praised the jury’s not guilty verdict in a trial that has divided the nation along partisan lines, embracing the argument that Rittenhouse was acting in self-defense and intended to protect local businesses.

A spokesperson for Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.), who has offered Rittenhouse an internship with his office, told The Washington Post in response to Greene's bill, “We are concerned that awarding Kyle with a Congressional Gold Medal will give him a big head during the internship with our office.”

Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) also offered Rittenhouse an internship following the verdict. And former President Trump said on Tuesday that Rittenhouse visited him at his resort in Florida shortly after being found not guilty. .................

Rittenhouse  defended himself. That’s all he did. Are we going to start handing out Congressional medals to people for defending themselves?
I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

Yes, we need to,  for his good works.  Why so envious?  He got rid of a PEDOPHILE and 6x FELON with assault charges.

Then his agility, and good shooting was amazing!   AMAZING.

Perhaps you should become better informed what the Congressional Gold medal is

Rittenhouse simply defended himself. He was well within his rights to do such based on the circumstances.  That’s it.

You should also seek to become better informed what the term “sour grapes”  mean

It won't happen, but it is a nice thought.  I don't see any problem with it.

This oughta make a few leftist heads explode...

MTG seems interested primarily in making leftist heads explode with partisan rhetoric.  As long as her district constituents return her to Congress, more power to her, but the country needs leadership that sees beyond needless provocation.  And the MAGA movement needs that as well.

Having the most clever memes and the most liked tweets and the most provocative resolutions doesn't actually move the ball down the field toward cultural sanity and constitutional government.

MTG is our version of AOC.  Bombastic.....  And I do like that.

I like that she drives liberals crazy, but giving the Congressional Gold Medal to Kyle devalues it for those who rightfully earned it.

I wish and hope she continues 1000% full bore toward the J6 scandal instead.

As democrats are determined to arm criminals and terrorist, even Mex drug lords, Rittenhouse is an example of Americans defending themselves against those anarchist terrorist democrats favor.  Rittenhouse setting and reasserting  a gold standard of Americans, police, military, defending themselves.  LOVE IT!

I understand where you're coming from, but IMO she also represents the voices of the people. Her goal may be to make the leftist heads explode, but let's be honest here, much of what the left is doing is making the right's heads explode.  They're rationale and actions are socialistic and marxist in nature. Taking down monuments, changing history text books, indoctrinating our youth isn't illegal or unconstitutional but it sure as heck is unpatriotic and all this 'wokeness' is detrimental to our society.

The leftists continue to trample on our rights, yet very few in Congress are speaking out and doing anything about it.

...hmmm..... I don't consider her bombastic but rather very outspoken with some substance to what she's saying. AOC is very outspoken but just plain bat crap crazy and her ideas are out there ... the New Green Deal is quite a gem. Perhaps she's not as bombastic as we think and her true agenda is just to destroy us.

If her provocation of the Left urges those who are more "moderate" in the GOP to get off their collective hindparts and do something a little bit cconservative for a change, good.

If you notice, the Leftists have long embraced even the most radical of their cadre, and use them to set the bar to begin negotiations.

By contrast, the GOP hastily throws those more to the right under the bus, and edges them out for not playing nice with the Left.

NO WONDER we continue to lose ground in every negotiation, even when the GOP had both houses of Congress.

We need people who will draw the line for others to approach, even if they refuse to toe it, set a standard by which the RINOS and Country Clubbers can be measured, and hopefully help awaken voters to the desperate need to primary some of these buggerers out.

Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

I certainly do notice that about the left, and I see the point you are making here - if a few people on the right take an extreme position, or perhaps just express a mainstream right position in extreme language, then then entire right will be brought into a more effective posture.  I think that's what a lot of Rs like about Trump.  Although I think MTG is an idiot, if the Rs do re-gain the majority in the HoR then she ought to be restored to committee assignments; she is the duly elected representative of her constituents after all.  I don't suggest that the Rs should run away from her.

Personally I would prefer to do away with the negotiation approach so that provocative idiocy, on either side, loses influence, and simply say what we mean without apology and without retreat; but that's just my opinion.

The GREAT MYSTERY is hardly a mystery at all.  Globalist George Soros already made it public, HE OWNS THE DEMOCRAT PARTY, and therefore you get the often 100% lockstep voting from them.  Soros has not achieved that level of ownership of Republicans, but you can be sure he owns some of the Republicans and seeks to own them all.  The great mystery solved for some of you wallowing in the darkness.  The weird part is insisting the Republicans partly compromised is worse than the democrats being totally compromised to the globalist ultra-rich.  What happened to American thinking skills, those compromised too?

We live in an age where there is such an incredible flow of "information" that it is virtually impossible to assess and analyze that material in such a way that verifiable conclusions can be drawn. Confirmation bias has replaced filters of common sense, and we must question all sources, looking for conflicts of interest which may have acted as filters on the information we receive. For all that information, knowledge is in short supply, and wisdom even more scarce.

Wise words @Smokin Joe, but I question whether it's virtually impossible to assess information and to draw verifiable conclusions.  Frequently difficult, and yes we are all susceptible to confirmation bias, but I don't think virtually impossible.

That's why I've taken the negative position here on MTG.  She has suggested that no plane crashed into the Pentagon on 9/11, that the Parkland and Sandy Hook school shootings were committed by US Government agents to build the case for gun control, and that wildfires in CA were caused by lasers beamed to earth from orbiting craft.  It is not difficult to conclude that these are lunatic assertions.  I will not be surprised if we learn next that she was once abducted by aliens.

I join other Briefers in wanting to see milquetoast, go-along-to-get-along Rs replaced by uncompromising conservatives, and if outspoken conservatives in office cause those unreliables to toe the line, that's a good thing.  But if our plumbline standard of principled consistency is someone who propagates nonsense conspiracy theories and advocates ridiculous ideas, and we justify this lunacy by pointing to its mirror image in AOC, then the problem isn't unreliable Rs or even the Ds - the problem is us, for switching off our own common sense and falling headlong into that confirmation bias.  "We can be just as stupid and outrageous as the Ds" is not a winning campaign slogan.
