While channel hopping, I caught CNN laying blame on GWB and MSNBC on Trump.  The Dems are beginning to circle the wagons.  It won't work.  Joe Biden's 'presidency' [sic] is effectively over.  There is nothing politically that he will be able to accomplish from this point forward.
That is the only good news out of all of this I have read

Anybody heard from Avril Haines in the past week?  She has completely fallen off the radar.

Dems handed our cities to BLM and ANTIFA.

Are you really surprised they handed Afghanistan to the Taliban?

If Biden truly has dementia, as I and many others believe, it will be exposed first by foreign allies to protect their interests, unless they give Dems ultimatum first.  Remember, though, that those closets too him, family & politically new & ran him anyway & didn't care.

Young Child Among Seven Killed in Crowd Stampede at Kabul Airport

Simon Kent 22 Aug 2021

Seven people were crushed to death Saturday as massed crowds fell against concrete barriers outside Kabul airport as they gathered to try to flee Afghanistan after the Taliban took control, according to Britain’s Ministry of Defence.

Panicked crowds were pushing forward in an attempt to board evacuation planes when the tragedy took place, Reuters reports.

“Conditions on the ground remain extremely challenging but we are doing everything we can to manage the situation as safely and securely as possible,” the UK Defence Ministry statement said on Sunday.

As a reminder, here is Biden laying out his prowess on foreign policy matters:

THE POWER OF AMERICA’S EXAMPLE: THE BIDEN PLAN FOR LEADING THE DEMOCRATIC WORLD TO MEET THE CHALLENGES OF THE 21ST CENTURY

Defend our Vital Interests: As president, Biden will never hesitate to protect the American people, including when necessary, by using force. We have the strongest military in the world—and as president, Biden will ensure it stays that way. The Biden administration will make the investments necessary to equip our troops for the challenges of the next century, not the last one. But the use of force should be our last resort, not our first—used only to defend our vital interests, when the objective is clear and achievable, and with the informed consent of the American people.

End Forever Wars: Biden will end the forever wars in Afghanistan and the Middle East, which have cost us untold blood and treasure. As he has long argued, Biden will bring the vast majority of our troops home from Afghanistan and narrowly focus our mission on Al-Qaeda and ISIS. And he will end our support for the Saudi-led war in Yemen. Staying entrenched in unwinnable conflicts only drains our capacity to lead on other issues that require our attention, and it prevents us from rebuilding the other instruments of American power.

Elevate Diplomacy: As president, Biden will elevate diplomacy as the premier tool of our global engagement. He will rebuild a modern, agile U.S. Department of State—investing in and re-empowering the finest diplomatic corps in the world and leveraging the full talent and richness of America’s diversity. Working cooperatively with other nations makes us more secure and more successful. For example, as president, Biden will launch a top-to-bottom review of our funding to Central America to determine how we can build on a successful initiative from the Obama-Biden administration that secured concrete commitments from the leaders of El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras to take on the corruption, violence, and endemic poverty that drive migration.

Restore and Reimagine Partnerships: A Biden administration will do more than restore our historic partnerships; it will lead the effort to reimagine them for the future. This means keeping NATO’s military capabilities sharp, while also expanding our capacity to take on new, non-traditional threats like weaponized corruption, cyber theft, and new challenges in space and on the high seas; calling on all NATO nations to recommit to their responsibilities as members of a democratic alliance;

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan warns there will be a 'swift, forceful response' against Taliban if Americans are blocked from evacuating,
admits Kabul airport is dangerous with 'threat from ISIS', and refuses to rule out sending in more troops

KATELYN CARALLE   |   PUBLISHED: 10:45 EDT, 22 August 2021   |   UPDATED: 12:11 EDT

Joe Biden's national security adviser warned the Taliban on Sunday that the U.S. will issue a 'forceful' response if they interfere in American evacuation efforts from Afghanistan – and he doesn't rule out sending in more troops.

'If in the end Americans are blocked from getting to the airport, blocked from leaving the country, or our operations are disrupted or our evacuations are in some way interfered with, we have explained to them that there will be a swift and forceful response,' Jake Sullivan told NBC News host Chuck Todd during an interview on Meet the Press.

Sullivan detailed that Washington has an agreement with the Taliban that they will allow all American citizens passage to the Kabul airport – including through any checkpoints along their travel to the Hamid Karzai International Airport.  .  .

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9916511/Jake-Sullivan-warns-forceful-response-against-Taliban-Americans-blocked-evacuating.html

Sullivan is an embarrassment to this nation.  Americans are being beaten, threatened, and blocked access to the airport.  Some have had their passports confiscated by the very Taliban that was party to this "agreement" that Sullivan describes.  And there has been zero response to this other than closing gates and halting flights by the US.

How many were Americans?  If the recent past is any indication, about 780 were US Citizens (10%).  That means we have about 1,000 of us out, about 1/15th of the total US Citizens still in country.  About 95% are still screwed.

What I want to know is since all Afghanistan's money is frozen, where are the Taliban getting their money?

Oil, opium, China, all of the above?
The Biden administration is giving the Taliban money to play nice right now.  There is absolutely no doubt about it.

The primary issue we face right now is crowd control.  There are thousands of people crowding the gates making it impossible for anyone to get through.  A very large number of these people are average Afghans trying to leave the country, but with no attachment to allied forces.  These are the people blocking the line.

What is needed here are event coordinators who have experience working with large crowds.  They need to set up a process where gates are opened to allow the crowd to start flowing.  Anyone coming in that has no visa claim will be moved towards a new 'exit' gate for discharge from the airport.  As a flow is established, Americans who have previously failed in their attempt to reach the gate will be able to join the flow with the promise of reaching the entry gate as the flow proceeds.

The key is to get ineligible persons out of the way.  I deeply sympathize with them and their expectation that the US wouldn't allow the Taliban to take over so quickly.  But as foreign nationals who have made no previous attempt to immigrate to the US, there is really nothing we can do.  Route them through a path just inside the perimeter of the airport and direct them out a new exit gate.

That and the large number of armed Taliban beating people, confiscating (and destroying) vital documentation like Passports and Visas from people, preventing their escape.

No, the Americans need to gather someplace with a helicopter pad, and then fly them into the airport for evacuation.  Unfortunately, Shortbus Joe seems to have a phobia about using helicopters.
