It wasn't pretty.  Parler was hit by a DDOS attack, and we went down with them.  This is not related to all the 522 errors folks have been getting.

BTW ... I cannot be the only one who was expecting an attack like this.
And also, tried to get an update on FB about gopbriefingroom.
As far as I can tell there is no dedicated GopBriefingRoom FaceBook page.

Kinda wondered. On the 522 error page, it said it might be due to something hogging server resources. A text based forum isn't going to do that.

I, too,checked fecebook. Searched for The Briefing Room, Briefing Room, GOP Briefing Room, and got nothing.

I got a bunch of 500 and 522 errors from 4:42 PM CDT to 5:11 CDT.

Didn't get back on site until quite a bit later.

They shadow banned us. We don't show up on searches.  I believe @mystery-ak deleted the Fecebook page. We had every new post automatically posting a link on our page.  That is no more.

They want to move us to a dedicated server which costs $250 a month...hey this isn't FR!

   There's no doubt in my mind, that unlike others, Myst really finds it distasteful to ask Briefers for $$$.  We can't expect her to shoulder all of the burden here though.  TBR brings much to so many, the very least of it being that she allows us a place to connect with people we have grown close to in spite of it being online.

When you consider we used a third-party website to auto-post links to all New Topics on the Briefing Room Bookface, they probably found a great deal to object to in our content.  I shut that off right before Myst nuked the page.  Frankly I'm surprised they did not just cancel our page.  I think they left it up so they could DDOS us with spambots again.

Well of course. I would say that 50% or more of Republicans would object to the content on TBR, much more far-Left fascists.

Automating posts on FB is not a very good idea. Control should be maintained.
There should always be a moderator deciding what goes to a major global site, and what stays in house.
But, I suppose it does not matter now.

There was an option to curate the feeds, but we have no staff to do it. :shrug:

I shut off all the auto-posting.  We were sending links to Twitter and Pinterest (which I never got working), and now they're all disabled.

Our database server is the same one as Parler, for that very reason.  MeWe seems to have bandwidth issues all on their own.  BTW, dlvr, the third-party website we used for the auto-posting, does not have hooks to feed either Parler or MeWe.  That's pretty bad.

Jussayin... We ought to be looking to MeWe if the site is down, rather than Faceboot. Parler rather than twitter. If we need a social media site, it ought to support liberty minded folks. That's all

We have a Parler page, too, but it's a royal PITA to use.  They "stovepipe" everything, so it's hard for people to widely disseminate everything.
