Ted Cruz Says CNN Has Abandoned Journalism, Become a 'Weak Echo of MSNBC'
Firebrand Republican Senator Ted Cruz has hit out at CNN, branding the news network a "weak echo of MSNBC."
Cruz (R-TX), who is known for regularly lashing out the left and liberals, took to Twitter to attack CNN.
In the post, he shared a tweet by the Daily Caller that claimed Jake Tapper had lost 75 percent of his audience since former President Donald Trump left office in January.
Sen. Cruz's post, shared late last night, read: "It's almost as if CNN deciding to abandon journalism and become full-time political propagandists has turned them into a weak echo of MSNBC.
"Hard to imagine there isn't a huge audience for dishonest leftists preaching to other leftists." .......
His post was liked on more than 4,690 occasions and retweeted some 680 times as of Tuesday morning.
A Fox News report claimed the CNN host has seen viewers tune out from his show The Lead with Jake Tapper and that it had seen a sharp decline since it had a spike in January.
According to Fox News, Tapper's show had an average of 2.8 million viewers in January but slumped to 706,000 in the 4 p.m. ET timeslot from May 31 through to June 23.
This would represent roughly a three-quarters fall in its audience in only a few months.................
