I think Graham changed his vote to "yea" so he would have a leg to stand on to call witnesses for the defense.

@Right_in_Virginia

He already had a leg to stand on,called "Senior Republican (alleged) US Senator.  This benefits Lindsey,or it wouldn't have happened.

According to the parliamentary rules of this fakakta trial, you have to vote "yes" on calling witnesses to name one.  ----  Being able to name the witnesses *really* benefits the showman in Graham.   happy77

I wondered what was being objected to that Leahy dismissed and refused to allow.  Typical DemRat bias, unfairness and obstruction of the TRUTH.

House Managers in their closing statements violated Senate rules and are admonished by @SenatorLeahy. They attempted to change the grounds for impeachment to failure to stop the attacks from incitement of the attacks.

Heard horn guy's lawyer last night - horn guy is saying he was there because Trump wanted him there.  Horn guy was at another Trump rally, different state, and Trump liked him.  Horn guy was called to be at this one.

Today, House managers wanted witnesses to get the testimony of the person who spoke to Trump during the riot when he (Trump) knew Pence was in danger, and he did nothing to stop it - rather, immediately after the phone call, Trump went to twitter and slammed Pence again.  Rioters were getting those tweets.   Again, it is a miracle Pence is alive. After the riot, Trump did not speak to Pence for five days.  No message from him to see if Pence and family were okay.

So, this morning, the phone call was admitted as evidence; that is what the House managers wanted; they had to have that vote to get a witness statement into evidence.  They did not want witnesses in person, just get the phone message into evidence.

At this time, Pence and wife are living with family.  They have no house as they were living in the governor's mansion, then Pence was VP.  They will buy a house in the summer.  Pence gets gets two Secret Service men for six months after being VP, however, that can be extended if necessary.

???  So @Victoria33 it makes absolutely no difference to you that what is going on now is unconstitutional??  That Roberts declined tor reside?  Trump has left office.  Trump did NOT call for rioting, and he did NOT call for an assault against Pence.

Again, this is UNCONSTITUTIONAL.  The Chief Justice is NOT presiding.  Trump is NOT in office.  So voting to remove a man who is no longer in office is absolutely absurd.

I'm sure Karen, Mike and family will be just fine.

Also, most importantly, realize that the rioters consisted of BLM/Antifa and this attack was planned in advance by the DEMS and members of the GOPe -- including Pence.  He was never in any danger.

They are terrified of Trump running in 2022 or 2024; this IS the reason for the impeachment  He IS the voice of 75,000,000+ people who want to keep our Republic.  Those in power want to bring this Republic down. I'm on the side that wants to keep our Republic period.
Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Tripping down memory lane.... it kinda reminds me of how Dan Rather "accidentally" created a fake Texas Air National Guard Memo in order to attack and bash George Bush.   Hell, pasting a fake blue check mark is nothing for these crooks.   Their job has gotten easier.

The oratorical abilities of the House Managers are so wildly superior to that of the defense.

They used to compare seeing your government in action to the making of sausage... horrifying in its display, but with enjoyable results.

Now it's like watching fertilizer being made. It might ultimately help green up your lawn, but it still smells like shit.
"The most terrifying force of death, comes from the hands of Men who wanted to be left Alone. They try, so very hard, to mind their own business and provide for themselves and those they love. They resist every impulse to fight back, knowing the forced and permanent change of life that will come from it. They know, that the moment they fight back, their lives as they have lived them, are over. -Alexander Solzhenitsyn

If you’re mad that the public won’t get a full accounting of what happened 1/6 without witnesses, there’s ONE PERSON you should all be sending your comment cards to.

She made a strategic choice to go without sworn testimony. And to focus on incitement over dereliction of duty.

Trump lawyer Mike Van der Veen saying that the Jan 6 rally got hijacked by groups “on the left and right” drew an audible exhalation of objection by Democrats. Some stared ahead with furrowed brows, Bernie Sanders started shaking his head.

Behind-the-scenes details here about talks:

-- It was truly a last-minute decision to call witnesses after House Dems debated until 3am whether to call witnesses
- It was ultimately a huge risk, they concluded. A deal to submit statement was safer route

The democrats are upset because Mike's telling the unvarnished truth ..... and he's doing it calmly, without theatrics or props.
