I'm sorry to be personal about this, but it's incredibly weird and terrible to have literally been present for and lived through a terrorist attack, and not even known the extent of how awful it was until weeks later.

This whole day is about playing to the victims ... changing their own memories and replacing them with fear and rage.  I really wouldn't be surprised if a jumbo jet is commandeered and flown into Mar a Lago.

The defense team has to shake off their own reaction to this and slice through the palpable emotion with clear facts  Godspeed.  .

I agree.  This debacle has just enraged 75M people into thinking there will never be any national reconcilation, no matter how much bullshit Pedo Joe spews to that point.

What these scenes from the Capitol reinforce is something that many G.O.P. politicians for the past four years have been unwilling to acknowledge: that when Trump spoke, voters listened, and many took him at his word.

I can only speak for myself. But I wish the opinion leaders on our side would STOP overstating the damn capitol hill riot. They always have to preface every commentary with how horrible it was. Outside of Ashli Babbitt, the only fatalities seem to have been due to medical conditions, and mostly among "rioters". Windows were broken. Big deal. All I ask is our side give it no more weight than they did the "Summer of Love" riots, which killed from between 30 and 50 people.

Same thing is true of The Steal. Its now obligatory to preface any commentary with "well I think the president's position on the election was ill advised". The rats stole the friggen election. I wish those opinion leaders on our side would just say it & stop allowing the left to intimidate them into accepting their context as a starting point for discussion every time.

I'm concerned about the rage from the other direction and the physical threat it is to Trump and the employment, safety threat it is to his supporters.

The prosecution is compelling.  Donald Trump incited and directed the insurrection.  He knew what he was doing.  I cannot imagine how any Senator could vote against removal.

Kinzinger is right.  And, it is a miracle Pence is still alive.  Trump put a target on Pence's heart for days before Jan. 6, and on that day.  It is my opinion, Trump is guilty of attempted murder of Pence.

As I have seen various film of this days ago, I saw a man holding a phone and a woman was telling him where to go - you could hear her talk - that was prearranged and I wondered what group that was.  I found out today from what was said that it was the group, "The Oath Keepers".  That woman knew the layout and was directing the group inside.
