@Wingnut

It's going to take a while for the numbness to go away,and for the grief to slip it. Don't worry about it. That is nature's way of protecting you against huge personal shocks like this.

Spend that time remembering the joyous moments as well as the routine day to day moments that made you the family you became,because one day it will be your turn to pass it down.

Long distance Voyage is one of my all time favorite albums. I remember sitting around debating that album cover for hours while listening to the album over and over.

Heartfelt sympathies, fellow Briefer. It doesn't matter how old we are, it's crushing to lose our beloved parents. There's something nobly poetic about his leaving on Veterans Day. Henceforth, you'll have 2 things to commemorate every November 11. Prayers for God's comfort for you and all who loved him.

P.S. What a handsome guy he was!

Well, perhaps it wasn't exactly a heart healthy meal. Just sayin'       888mouth

Give me red meat, cheese and real butter (oh and dark chocolate).  I told my cardio that the low fat, continual carb , low sugar, limited meat, supposedly heart healthy diet that the American Heart Association recommends, will kill me.  He just looked at me and told me to eat more vegs ... I looked at him and responded ... more fruit.

What is killing us is all the fake food ... such as margarine.  Most low fat, low carb products have a bunch of preservatives, flavor enhancers and chemicals that are terrible for your health.
