In the fall, Speaker Nancy Pelosi turned down President Trump's $1.8 trillion COVID stimulus proposal because an election was near and they didn't want to give the White House another "victory".
That refusal only made things harder in the coming months, which is why Congress had to settle for a $900 billion stimulus package instead.

And even though she was the one who caused the last bill to fall through, now she's trying to take credit for "saving lives" with this weak $600 payout to American families.
"Congressional Democrats have reached an agreement with Republicans and the White House on an emergency coronavirus relief and omnibus package that delivers urgently needed funds to save the lives and livelihoods of the American people," the far-left speaker tweeted.
