Biden claims he wants to avoid federal investigations into Trump for sake of unity: Report

Democratic nominee Joe Biden is not interested in launching federal investigations into President Donald Trump once he leaves office because he believes it will be too divisive for the country, according to sources who have spoken to him about it, NBC News reported.

The outlet, quoting five people supposedly familiar with the discussions, said the former vice president is pushing back against vindictive Democrats who seek investigations into President Trump, his policy decisions, and some members of his administration.

It’s not clear what legal violations the president is alleged to have committed that would warrant investigations, presumably by a Biden Justice Department.

NBC News said that, according to its sources, Biden has said he believes ongoing investigations would serve mostly to further enrage and divide a country that is already bitterly tribal. Also, Biden reportedly does not want to make every day of his presidency about his predecessor, the network reported.

The sources said Biden has instructed his advisers specifically that he is concerned about investigating President Trump’s federal taxes or challenging orders Trump may still issue such as extending immunity to staff members as he leaves office.

One adviser told NBC News that the alleged president-elect has said clearly he “just wants to move on.”

“He’s going to be more oriented toward fixing the problems and moving forward than prosecuting them,” another adviser told the outlet.

The House is still trying to get Trump's tax returns released.
Some members have vowed to pursue Trump to his grave, or at least until he is bankrupt and in prison.
However, the more senior members of the Democrat Party are much more cautious.
Trump knows where all the bodies are buried too. That thought makes many Dems crap their pants.
