That's a tough one, @txradioguy They are forced to run it. If they don't it will be the 1st time in decades...not running an pre-election interview with a sitting POTUS seeking a 2nd term. Especially having already promoted it.
CBS is already out on social media trying to do damage control saying "Trump violated our agreement".
IMO, they're busy editing their edited version as we speak.
Yeah they are going to do that because I don't think a decision will be made until air time on Sunday...IMHO I think it will depend too on how badly Biden does at the debate tonight.
I could very easily see them not airing the interview and instead going with an in studio diatribe the goes something like this:
"Tonight, we were going to air our exclusive interview that Leslie Stahl had with President Donald Trump, but because of the unprecedented actions taken by President Trump ahead of the interview, and in violation of our signed written agreement with the White House, the President and his staff released an unedited and unfinished version of our interview. And in light of this egregious behavior and violations of journalistic ethics, we cannot, in good faith, air the interview as we had originally planned."
