This hearing is a reminder that there are more than a few elderly Democrat politicians who think that the time to retire and hand the reins of power to the younger generations that they claim to care about so much is NEVER

Here’s an interesting fact.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg had over one hundred Supreme Court clerks in her twenty-seven years on the bench. And out of all those clerks, RBG selected ONE clerk of color. Every other clerk was Caucasoid.

So one could factually say that Amy Coney Barrett has more black children—adopted two Haitian children—than RBG had Supreme Court clerks. Yet, it’s ACB that’s the white racist, and RBG the champion of the woken.

Barrett's statement on originalism leading off the hearing was one of the strongest statements in modern history. The statement that meaning "does not change" with time is unambiguous and open. That confirms the transformative impact of this nomination for the Court at the outset

I’m not big on term limits. I think all that would happen is that the financial corruption that senators and representatives are so adept at would simply be put on a fast track and the corruption would get compressed into however many years they’re limited to.

Leahy just brought up the Box case on fetal remains in 2018 and Barrett's dissent.  However, it is notably that the Supreme Court supported her view and reversed on that issue. The en banc decision was rejected by the Court and even Ginsburg joined in part in that decision.
