White House Physician: President Trump Will Carry out Duties ‘Without Disruption’ Despite Testing Po

White House Physician Sean Conley announced in a letter he expected President Donald Trump to continue carrying out his duties as president, despite testing positive for the coronavirus.

“Rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments,” U.S. Navy Commander physician Sean Conley wrote in a letter released to reporters.

The letter from Trump’s physician did not stop media outlets from speculating about the succession of power and whether Trump should even remain on the ballot.

“If he becomes sick, it could raise questions about whether he should remain on the ballot at all,” the New York Times wrote on Friday morning. CNN also spent time speculating about the succession of power as the president had tested positive.

The White House updated the daily schedule early Friday to note the president would host a phone call on COVID-19 support to vulnerable seniors on Friday at 12:15 p.m. and cancel a rally in Florida that he had scheduled for the day.

Vice President Mike Pence did not announce any test results on Friday, but issued a statement confirming he was praying for the president and the first lady’s recovery.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would fall second in line in presidential succession, a fact many on the left celebrated.

Most unfortunate. 

However, I do not see the stinking Democommies doing anything to gain ground with Trump having the virus.  There is nothing they can do with Biden, a man dead from the neck up as their candidate.

I read was an article describing the historical background of presidents who died in office and what happens (chain of command) afterwards.  Good grief!!!!  Wishful thinking as the line goes down to Ms. Pelosi?!  This IS going to get nastier and nastier (as expected but now with the added "jewel" of an illness).    I'd like to hibernate until after Trump is announced the winner...

The odds of any sort of succession occurring is probably around 0.1%, because of this COVID infection the President has.  Too small to get worked up in a lather of worry.

Agreed.  The big concern about this thing, is the dim's gaining electoral capital gain out of it.  The timing of this couldn't be worse.

Assuming the president has mild symptoms, I see this as dulling the plank the Dems are using of the president being obtuse and making so many suffer and die from the virus, causing 208,000 deaths.  We know that is poppycock, and his having the virus along with Melania dulls that nonsense a bit.  Along the lines of the empathy vote, the same thing Biden is doing with many of his ads, constantly talking about his son that died how many years ago.

Can you see JFK using the death of his son when he was POTUS to get re-elected?  Hell no!  Biden is such a WEAK sucker I just do not understand how anyone would vote for this mediocre fool.

In the end, Trump will gain votes with this, and the excitement of his rallies will be greater than ever, knowing he was confronted with the virus.  So, I do not see this dampening his re-election.  It would if he were running against a viable, fully functional opponent, but Biden is anything but that!

Another way of saying this is that this humanizes the president with some people.

I think Trump will come back revved and stronger than ever... setting an example for the entire country... that we are Americans and we can accomplish ANYTHING we set out to do.   It will also show the nation that this virus is not the "deadly excuse" to lock down and shut down that the left has made it out to be.

   Trump was gonna shake this Covid Template that he was talked into anyway after his reelection.  Appointing Atlas was the precursor.  Now that Trump actually has experience with this $hit he will use it to the max.    Petal to the Metal!   I'm optimistic.

In the era of cut throat, cut them off at the knees vitriol now, I just don't see it.  OTOH, we are both old enough to remember how Reagan found new popularity and strength from a hospital bed after his near assassination. 

1 month to go?  Trump needs  this time on the stump, and to drop a few kicks to Biden's nuts in a debate.  Only time will tell I guess.
