Melody Gardot. She is a story in herself. Singer, songwriter, arranger etc. Google her. Melody Gardot.

(no, I am not advocating multiculralism, with the video. I am just enjoying the music and visual splash of colors and apparent joy of living, on God's big spinning mudball).

Here's the second best version of an Afro-Cuban jazz classic you'll ever hear. (The first is by its composer, Mongo Santamaria---who plays
congas on this track!)

A pair of surprised finds from a sometimes-forgotten alto saxophonist who specialised
in turning big band stuff into cooking rhythm and blues:

Earl Bostic, "Stompin' at the Savoy"

Earl Bostic, "Temptation"

It means we've run out of video space ... at least for this current page, perhaps a new lease is given when a post opens a new page. I don't know, I have seen that happen in one forum.  Maybe it's a question of downloading.

Yes, and the Hollies are a par excellent group!

The embedding widget that puts videos on the page has a limit of how many videos it will embed on a single page.

I got around it by going into my settings and setting the number of posts per page to 10 (the default is 25). There's more clicking to do but it usually means all the videos on a page will load without a problem.

I heard this morning that Texas music legend Guy Clark is not doing well health-wise, so in honor of him here's one of my favorite Guy Clark songs, Dublin Blues:

Along with a YouTube mix of a lot of his other stuff too. Enjoy!

I hope Guy Clark improves.

Here is another artist that slowed down due to Lyme disease;  he does a fine Gene Vincent tribute show, as  others have done Elvis or Johnny Cash or Buddy Holly and even Connie Francis.  I think Ervin Travis is French actually.

Ervin Travis and the New Virginians (Gene Vincent was from Virginia, GV served in the Navy); they are nuts about Gene Vincent in France and the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, etc. along with Rockabilly in general.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TT0XYAKQWCk

https://www.facebook.com/ervin.travis

I met one person with Lyme disease and he recovered fully, others seem to have problems with it.

Simply copy the web address URL and paste it in your reply....BUT....be sure to DELETE the "S" after 'https:'  in the URL address.

Otherwise, only your link will appear.

Hit POST and you're good.

Since I'm in a Texas kind of mood, here are two, one old and one new-ish:
