Hey... let's start a thread with music that we would like to share with others here at the Briefing Room.  Everyone's moods will change from day to day and over time, we could have an interesting collection.  Here is one of my all time favorites by Gerry Rafferty...

Gerry Rafferty - Baker Street (Long Version)

I was downloading some music when I remembered this vocalist, Linda Eder. Some of you may recall her on Star Search where I first saw her. What a voice. Here's an video of her back when she first started out.

I return to Broadway. Originally I had intended to post a vocal rendition of "Stranger in Paradise" but then I stumbled across this outstanding instrumental version by violinist André Rieu, with complete orchestration. The sound is lush and, imo, simply beautiful.

Broadway again, sort of. The beautiful ballad "What I did for Love" from "A Chorus Line." The most interesting aspect of this video? It's a high school production and the girl singing is only 15.

Ok, I move off Broadway and head south, way south. "Remember When" by Alan Jackson. Yep, I like C&W, too, and even if you don't check this one out especially if you've ever been married.

Summer Wind first recorded by Wayne Newton in 1965 but is most known by Frank Sinatra which was released in 1966 in his album, Strangers in the Night.
Music: Henry Mayer
Lyrics: (By Johnny Mercer)

The summer wind came blowin' in
From across the sea
It lingered there to touch your hair
And walk with me

All summer long
we sang a song
And then we strolled that golden sand
Two sweethearts and the summer wind

Like painted kites, those days and nights
They went flying by
The world was new beneath the blue
Umbrella sky

Then softer than a piper man
One day, it called to you
I lost you I lost you to
The summer wind

The autumn wind
And the winter winds
They have come and gone
And still those days
Those lonely days
They go on and on
And guess who’s sigh`s
His lullabies through nights that never end
My fickled friend,
The summer wind
The summer wind warm summer wind
Mmm the summer wind

I know that song by heart. I listened to that song on St. Martine. Was a great time, will never forget it. Was in the military at the time. Red red wine. There was plenty of that.

Nobody understands this song. (except me) You have to really listen and you have to have some background in academics to get it. Anyway, for the 1 out of 20 of you out there, here it is.

Wow.  Thanks!  I absolutely love Alan Jackson and this particular song.Wow.

Thank you for the thought, FDaY, but while going through this thread page by page, trying to avoid any duplications ( For example, I wanted to add "Crazy" by Patsy Cline but somebody beat me to it), I found LandoLincoln had posted "Remember When" back in January, 2011. Good for him.

So in way of apologies for the duplicate I will post another C&W I love and again it will get a smile and a nod from anyone who has been married, especially if you have kids.
