Judge rules Florida’s school reopening order unconstitutional

A Leon County judge ruled Florida Emergency Order 2020-EO-6, which required the opening of all ‘brick and mortar’ schools in August, unconstitutional.

The order, placed on July 6, by Education Commissioner Corcoran requires all school board and charter school governing boards in Florida to open brick and mortar schools at least five days a week in August despite the coronavirus pandemic.........

Judge Dodson ruled the order to be unconstitutional for disregarding safety, denying local school board decision making, and conditioning funding on an approved reopening plan with a start date in August.

Local school boards will then still be allowed to determine whether or not to open brick and mortar schools.

Hilarious, as the Department of Education has dictated from DC every jot & tittle involved in running public schools since the 70s.

Judges, like the rat media, rat party and even many republicans, no longer care how foolish or hypocritical they appear as long as they get the last word.

COVID-19 numbers today at roughly 5 million. In 2009, H1N1 infected 60 million. Both contagious respiratory illnesses. Schools not ordered shut in 2009, but are today.

Can anyone spot the difference between then and now? You’re a smart class, I’m sure you’ll come up with the right answer.

(You may factor in that Covid-19 and H1N1 are caused by different viruses and present different clinical features, but from a public health standpoint they may be viewed as same.)

A judge does not determine safety issues at a school.

That is outside his purview.

The difference is easy to spot.  It's the "Orange Man Bad" factor.   And an election year.   Obvious.

And as long as they have gone 'on record' re: towing the commie party line.

Well, today was the first day of school in this area for those students who aren't doing virtual or distance learning.  I saw a few buses and for the most part, they look to be pretty empty. Parking lots in my neighborhood schools were about half full -- so perhaps not all the teachers went back would be my guess.
