The Virginia GOP supports the Virginia Democrat Party.  They actively deny funding for their own candidates, openly support Democrat candidates by failing to contest a quarter of State legislative races, and go all out to oppose any candidate who is Conservative.

This isn't just a "recent" thing.   I remember when I was a kid, my parents talking about it when we lived in Norfolk and complaining about the politicians, cost of living, taxes and conditions there.  They couldn't friggin wait to get back home to Texas.
