Through the years we've both done a significant remodel (re-do the roof to get rid of a long, leak-prone, "valley" and add central air) and added on 400+ square feet. Both partially reset our property taxes according to the value of the upgrades.
Stepping back from the nutsy-boltsy fray, this thread illustrates why the MSM cannot be relied on to tell the full truth about anything political, even things more than 4 decades old.
