This is going to continue to happen as long as retiring Admirals are allowed to go to work for defense contractors upon retirement.
It is also tied to the "inbred" nature of the Flag Rank officers. Remember McLunatic being the son AND the grandson of senior Admirals?
Pop retires and gets his son to sign off on defense contracts that benefit his new employers so he gets cash bonuses at the end of the year.
This applies to all branches of the service, but the Navy the most because of the insane cost of all their
"weapons platforms"/ships.
NOBODY from ANY branch of the military that reaches Flag Rank should be allowed to work for a defense contractor in any position.
If I had it my way,NO field grade officer (Major or above) should be allowed to work for a defense contractor after retirement.
