There’s still no guarantee that the experimental vaccine, developed by the National Institutes of Health and Moderna, will really protect.
The needed proof: Volunteers won’t know if they’re getting the real shot or a dummy version. After two doses, scientists will closely track which group experiences more infections as they go about their daily routines, especially in areas where the virus still is spreading unchecked.
Good Lord, what sloppy "reporting". First of all, it almost ignores the fact that a significant amount of testing of this vaccine has already been done. Second, "There’s still no guarantee that the experimental vaccine ... will really protect," is editorial comment that also ignores previous testing. Third, the article does not tell the reader what phase this new test is. The scale of the test - 30,000 people - means this is a Phase III test. IOW, the article suppresses from the reader a simple fact that demonstrates there already has been significant testing.
IOW, while CNBC reports the start of the test, it withholds information from the reader to create greater doubt than is warranted. CNBC also does not tell readers that this new phase is the final phase before approval for use. It's almost as if CNBC has an agenda,

The US government began working with Moderna back in January, 2020, when Biden and the Dems claim Trump was doing nothing. And it's a twofer day, Pfizer's vaccine candidate also began Phase II/III testing today,

That puts three vaccine candidates in Phase III, all of whose developers have been working with the US government for months. For Biden and the Dems, this is a triple threat to a keystone campaign claim. Because people understand that such things don't happen by magic, and claims that these vaccines are untested will get buried in facts.
