Trump's job disapproval reaches all-time high in new poll
By Max Greenwood - 06/26/20 01:12 PM EDT

President Trump’s disapproval rating has soared to an all-time high in a new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll, the latest sign that Americans’ dissatisfaction with his handling of multiple national crises is mounting.

Trump garnered 40 percent job approval in the survey, still better than his all-time low of 35 percent recorded in an August 2017 NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist survey. But the percent of respondents who disapprove of the job he’s doing in the White House reached its highest level yet this month, at 58 percent.

Among registered voters included in the survey, Trump did not fare much better. Fifty-seven percent said they disapprove of his job performance, while 41 percent approved.

excerpt:
The NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll surveyed 1,640 U.S. adults, including 1,515 registered voters, from June 22-24. The full sample of adults has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.3 percentage points, while the margin of error for the subset of registered voters is +/-3.5 percentage points.

Let’s see where do we begin

1)  “but 2016, but 2016”

2)  I don’t believe polls( unless they get the results I agree with)

3) Polls are made to shape public opinion, not measure it

I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them.

It could be true the media has suddenly resolved to become honest and impartial.

Why do you think people like AOC and other radicals in the Democratic Party are backing Biden?

They understood that Sanders brand of socialism would be rejected at the ballot box by the American public. But they feel they will be able to mold Biden into a stealth Sanders

The way that the Dems neutralized Bernie let me know that we were dealing with a savvier bunch this time around. They recognized that Bernie was an existential threat who was never going to beat Trump. Trump and his people can bloviate all they want about dementia; they know that they wanted to run against Bernie and avoid Biden.

I bet the GOP-e wishes they could go back in time and do likewise, have Rubio, Kasich, Bush, et al draw straws and coalesce their vote before Trump gained too much momentum. I think it's funny how much abuse they have to take from a leader of their party whom they detest. They're like cowering, battered spouses.

One doesn't need the media to know what's up.
A politician (especially an incumbent) that is leading doesn't ask for more debates (see the Alabama Senate race).
A politician that is leading doesn't beg the opponent to leave his basement. He'd be happy shaping the day's narrative, being the only one seen visibly interacting with the public.

Trump's team wants Biden out there making errors because their guy keeps making errors. Two old men who have both clearly seen better days.

How awesome would it be if we had sharp younger guys at the top of their games like Buttigieg, Cruz, Sasse, et al cogently, lucidly having policy debates?
