The president of Greater New York Black Lives Matter said that if the movement fails to achieve meaningful change during nationwide protests over George Floyd’s death by Minnesapolis police officers, it will “burn down this system.”

“If this country doesn’t give us what we want, then we will burn down this system and replace it. All right? And I could be speaking figuratively. I could be speaking literally. It’s a matter of interpretation,” Hawk Newsome said during an interview Wednesday evening on “The Story” with Martha MacCallum.

“Let’s be very real,” he told the Fox News host. “Let’s observe the history of the 1960s, when black people were rioting. We had the highest growth in wealth, in property ownership. Think about the last few weeks since we started protesting. There have been eight cops fired across the country.”

He said in past incidents involving fatal encounters with citizens, police officers were always allowed due process, but when people begin to destroy property, things change.

“What is this country rewarding? What behavior is it listening to? Obviously not marching. But when people get aggressive and they escalate their protests, cops get fired, Republican politicians talking about police reform,” he said.

“I don’t condone nor do I condemn rioting,” Newsome continued. “But I’m just telling you what I observed.”

MacCallum asked Newsome what Black Lives Matter hoped to achieve through violence.

Pete brought up a few weeks ago that these thugs outside their element are cowards.  I tend to agree.  They thrive when they can weave in and out of public buildings, streets and alleys like jackals.

Even in a known lib state like Minnesota (across the river from me), there are many gun-carrying Republicans who won't tolerate thugs. Even many Dems have guns.
My lib daughter-in-law and lib son-in-law have guns. When asked by my wife what would happen if the mob invaded their neighborhood, she said they, she and her husband,  had  guns. And she's about as liberal as they come.

When they were burning down much of downtown Minneapolis a few weeks ago, there was a photo three white thugs vandalizing the cop shop.
It would have given me great pleasure to see some cop show up and ventilate those idiots.

A Black Lives Matter leader told Fox News on Wednesday evening that if they are not given what they want then they will “burn down” the system.

Hawk Newsome, head of Black Lives Matter for Greater New York, part of the neo-Marxist Black Lives Matter movement, made the remarks in a combative interview with Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum.

MacCallum began the interview by noting Newsome’s apparent support for using violence to achieve political goals. “Obviously people watch what you say in that video, that you now want to shove legislation down people’s throats now that you have everyone’s attention, and you also have said that violence is sometimes necessary in these situations,” said MacCallum. “What exactly is it that you hope to achieve through violence?”

They showed up in Coeur d'Alene and later here for protesting... met with armed citizens backing the cops... Hunnerts of em. So they protest peacefully and go home... Because everybody knows what will happen if they throw a hissy.

The two BLM protests in town were met with peaceful gatherings of conspicuously armed bikers who obviously got along with police present. The message was sent: "No BS here."
Nothing broken or stolen, yet a peaceful protest still happened on both occasions.

And here.  About 200 protesters showed up in Kingman, the Seat of my County, and a city slightly smaller than my little town.  The three biggest cities in my County are, in order of population, Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City and Kingman.

I know some rednecks down in Kingman by name - Ate at their table many times up here - And I guarantee they were there keeping things quiet, or not.
