No he's not this time.

He is not the CinC. Mattis should stay out of the news.

If he wants to he could talk privately with Trump.

If a military officer did what he is doing, that officer would be in trouble.

He's letting personal acrimony towards the President cloud his judgement on this.

General Mattis is reacting to using US Military on US citizens.  It was our military that sent the protestors running away so Trump could walk across the street for his photo op.  Trump has kept those hundreds of US Military in Washington; they did not go back to their base.  There were 8-10 troop carriers carrying these soldiers to the White House area yesterday.  I head/saw they are still there today.

Well when the Governor of Virginia refuses to send national Guard troops into the District to help quell the rioting what the hell do you think is supposed to happen?

Fact check? Is this true? I thought it was secret service or the park agency or something?

Those citizens wanting nothing more than a return to normalcy probably appreciate those assets being there.

Some people, in their haste to trash the president, seem to have forgotten all about innocent people being ruined both financially and physically in all this ‘protesting’.

This hasn't happened since 1957.

It was our military that sent the protestors running away so Trump could walk across the street for his photo op.

Nope.  It was the Park Police.  The easy way to tell is that they were wearing Park Police uniforms instead of military uniforms.

It was the Park Police.  But when have facts ever mattered to Democrats?

Statement from United States Park Police acting Chief Gregory T. Monahan about the actions taken over the weekend to protect life and property

Date: June 2, 2020
Contact: uspp_pio@nps.gov

The United States Park Police (USPP) is committed to the peaceful expression of First Amendment rights. However, this past weekend’s demonstrations at Lafayette Park and across the National Mall included activities that were not part of a peaceful protest, which resulted in injuries to USPP officers in the line of duty, the destruction of public property and the defacing of memorials and monuments. During four days of demonstrations, 51 members of the USPP were injured; of those, 11 were transported to the hospital and released and three were admitted.

Multiple agencies assisted the USPP in responding to and quelling the acts of destruction and violence over the course of the weekend in order to protect citizens and property.

On Monday, June 1, the USPP worked with the United States Secret Service to have temporary fencing installed inside Lafayette Park.  At approximately 6:33 pm, violent protestors on H Street NW began throwing projectiles including bricks, frozen water bottles and caustic liquids. The protestors also climbed onto a historic building at the north end of Lafayette Park that was destroyed by arson days prior. Intelligence had revealed calls for violence against the police, and officers found caches of glass bottles, baseball bats and metal poles hidden along the street.

To curtail the violence that was underway, the USPP, following established policy, issued three warnings over a loudspeaker to alert demonstrators on H Street to evacuate the area. Horse mounted patrol, Civil Disturbance Units and additional personnel were used to clear the area. As many of the protestors became more combative, continued to throw projectiles, and attempted to grab officers’ weapons, officers then employed the use of smoke canisters and pepper balls. No tear gas was used by USPP officers or other assisting law enforcement partners to close the area at Lafayette Park. Subsequently, the fence was installed.

Throughout the demonstrations, the USPP has not made any arrests. The USPP will always support peaceful assembly but cannot tolerate violence to citizens or officers or damage to our nation’s resources that we are entrusted to protect.

Probably the only thing Barack Obama & I have in common is that we both had the honor of firing Jim Mattis.

Mattis is just another version of Bolton.
Both Mattis and Bolton had very strong opinions on the way the military should be run and what should be done in the Middle East. Both were in favor of continuation and possible expansion of military forces while Trump was ordering a draw down. They could not accept this policy. And both were fired by Trump.

This is nothing more than another butthurt rant by an exemployee of Trump.

Its disconcerting to me how easy it apparently was for the rat press to seduce these rock ribbed statesmen and generals.

Mattis is absolutely correct.  Good on him!

Yes, he is.   Trump would be well advised to at least try and make the effort to speak to the whole nation.

I think she got hold of some bad info that wasn't vetted before she posted it.  I would hope she wasn't intentionally trying to deceive anyone.

To Antifa?

To urban looters?

To  residents, that just read BLM and/or Antifa planning to go to the suburbs, for whites?

And of course there's another army of government  workers, that can make entire careers, on the payrolls.

And yet another army of medical industry folks.

And yet other armies of social media types, parsing every syllable for hints of offenses against their SJW customers.

Does he offend their sensitivities, for safe spaces, for microagressions, their diversity?

Will transvestites get thei fair share of air travel pat-down jobs?

”Speak to the whole nation” means bend over for the radical fringe.

Trump was speaking for the rest of us when he stood in front of the church. We know how those imploring him to “speak to the nation” felt about that.

Oh yeah.  I missed the media, from my list. They mostly talk among themselves, and write downmainly their own ideas.

Just remember, I always seem to find a way to get even. Best wishes, Donald J. Trump.”

https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/327410-trump-to-cnn-boss-i-always-find-a-way-to-get-even

DONALD TRUMP PICKED HIS FAVORITE Bible verse recently.

“Show no pity for the guilty! Your rule should be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.” Deuteronomy 19:21

This law is actually older than Moses, the Hebrew lawgiver who some say wrote the book of Deuteronomy. The law shows up in wedge-shaped cuneiform letters chiseled onto an ancient stone from what is now Iraq. The set of laws is called the Code of Hammurabi, named after a Babylonian king. It’s on display in the Louvre Museum in Paris.

I don’t plan on dwelling on this, but that law is the absolute opposite of what Jesus taught:

“You know that you have been taught, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you not to try to get even with a person who has done something to you. When someone slaps your right cheek, turn and let that person slap your other cheek.” Matthew 5:38-39

Jesus essentially declared the old law obsolete.

https://stephenmillerbooks.com/2016/04/obsolete-favorite-bible-verse/

I think he is serious.  He plans on getting even with anybody that doesn't toe the line.

AG William Barr: "I'm recused from that matter because one of the law firms that represented Epstein long ago was a firm that I subsequently joined for a period of time."

Alexander Acosta Labor Secretary resigned under pressure concerning his "sweetheart deal" with Jeffrey Epstein.  He was under consideration for AG after Sessions was removed, but was forced to resign instead.

How stupid is a Mattis v. Trump dustup at this exact moment?

Whether you agree with Mattis or not right now is inmateriable.  He is giving aid and comfort to Antifa.  This couldn't have waited a few weeks?

And to POTUS....   You don't have to respond to every single critical Tweet or op-ed.  You should have other more pressing matters on your platter......
