1. Unless one or more states reclassify deaths currently attributed to this coronavirus to some other primary cause, the "death toll" will not go down. That's a
-grade no-brainer.
2. a. Unlike Bush and Iraq, Trump did not bring this coronavirus into the US. Trump's Administration reactions were aggressive and correct in the context of what was known in the US at the time actions were taken. The comparison is inapt.
2. b. At a time when states are taking step toward opening up for every day life activities, Trump hunkering down as if the reopening were not happening would be a wrong "message". It's very likely that this was at least part of the thinking underlying Trump's decision.
2. c. By knee-jerkingly jumping on Trump's action, Biden opened further discussion of reopening in which the Dems are going to come out looking tyrannous and ugly.
