'Operation Warp Speed' aims to produce coronavirus vaccine by end of 2020: Report

The Trump administration is reportedly partnering with public and private entities to produce a coronavirus vaccine for the public by the end of 2020.

The unprecedented undertaking, called "Operation Warp Speed," pulls together pharmaceutical companies, the military, and other government entities to develop 300 million doses of a coronavirus vaccine in a period of eight months, according to Bloomberg.

If successful, the project would beat the prediction given by Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who said it would take between 12 and 18 months to have a vaccine ready. Even that timetable was far shorter than the years it typically takes to develop a vaccine.

The project aims to test promising vaccines on animals and then inject vaccines into humans during expedited clinical trials. Those vaccine candidates with the best results will then undergo mass production and simultaneously take part in larger clinical trials.

Dr. Anthony Fauci says it's not out of the question that the United States could have a viable coronavirus vaccine by January.

The director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases told Savannah Guthrie on TODAY Thursday that the government is quickly working on getting an answer to whether a vaccine is effective before beginning to manufacture hundreds of millions of doses.

"We want to go quickly, but we want to make sure it's safe and it's effective," Fauci said. "I think that is doable if things fall in the right place.

This is one of the Dems' and Trump-Haters' worst coronavirus nightmares, a vaccine being releasable on an emergency basis in early fall, 2020. Expect the Dems and MSM to start attacking potential vaccine source companies.
