Department of Energy requests $150 million for U.S. uranium reserve

The U.S. Secretary of Energy Dan Brouillette announced Thursday plans to prop up the nuclear sector.

Findings from the Nuclear Fuel Working Group’s Strategy to Restore American Nuclear Energy Leadership were unveiled. The group seeks to "...restore the viability of the entire front-end of the nuclear fuel cycle." It would also like to see advances in nuclear energy technologies.

The DOE is looking to fund a domestic uranium reserve. Budget is set at $150 million. Money will be used to purchase uranium from U.S. mines and fund U.S. conversion services.

“The decline of the U.S. industrial base in the front end of the nuclear fuel cycle over the past few decades has threatened our national interest and national security,” said Secretary Brouillette. ............

Romans 12:16-21

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly, do not claim to be wiser than you are.  Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.  If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all…do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
