Countries like India, where the ZIVERDO is offered as a frontline treatment, cannot afford the kind of medicine that is being pushed in these rich, “developed” countries. They cannot afford either massive hospitalizations for a disease that can be treated home. ...

There were 36 positive flu tests reported by the CDC last week.
Last year in the same week there were 7,703 positive flu tests, and no year in the last 5 had fewer than 320 positive tests.
Where’s the media coverage of this statistical anomaly?!

Australians had success with it. A friend took Ivermectin and zinc, with vitamin C after testing positive (and felt like crap, too) but after two doses of Ivermectin (one per day, based on his body weight), he felt better and was right as rain in four days. Ivermectin is an antiparasitic, and like hydroxychloroquine, an ionophore.

I figure that was why the Hydroxychloroquine/Azithromycin/Zinc regimen was attacked as well (and because Trump mentioned it).

Effective, cheap early onset treatments would have had the additional effect of removing the terror instilled in the global population which has enabled all sorts of totalitarian nonsense, and been the excuse for rampant nonfeasance by bureaucrats and politicians at virtually every level.

Not to mention the Chinese would not have been able to sell go-zillions of disposable masks...

New cases and deaths seem to have peaked and possibly started to decrease. There has also been some decline in test numbers the past few days. But there is a sort of double chicken-egg relationship between new case numbers and test numbers. On one hand more testing tends to mean more cases found; on the other, test numbers tend to reflect people's perceived need to be tested. So maybe new case numbers are down some because testing is down some. But maybe testing numbers are down some because fewer people are having symptoms that persuade them to get tested.

In brief, . That daily deaths numbers have plateaued and may be falling is a good thing, obviously, and may signal that infections have plateaued.

Hard to tell, the way the local news breathlessly reports every new case, every new death. And, of course, deaths from various causes are being blamed Covid. A lovely lady of our acquaintance - age 97 - died last week and it's been blamed on Covid, which is utter nonsense.

Meanwhile, here's an odd case:
Quote
Congressman-elect Luke Letlow died Tuesday evening from complications with COVID-19, shaking the Louisiana political world weeks after his election to represent Louisiana's 5th District in Congress as the state's youngest U.S. representative.

Letlow, 41, died at Ochsner-LSU Health Shreveport from “complications from COVID-19,” his spokesman, Andrew Bautsch, said in a statement.

Letlow was admitted to a Monroe hospital with COVID-19 symptoms on Dec. 19th before being transferred to the Shreveport hospital and moving to the intensive care unit on Dec. 23rd. ...

He was in critical condition but had recently shown signs of improvement when he "apparently suffered a cardiac event this evening that was refractory to all resuscitation efforts," said Dr. G.E. Ghali, of LSU Health Shreveport.

Ghali previously said Letlow was being treated with the antiviral drug Remdesivir and steroids. Asked if Letlow had any underlying conditions that would have made his death more likely, Ghali said in a text message, "none. All COVID related."  ...

UPDATE: it appears they may be acknowledging he died from the heart attack, not the 'rona. NY Post

Just tried to buy pants at Kohls but the fitting rooms weren't available "for your safety." Who's gotten the Rona from trying on a pair of pants? I walked out, after telling an employee I wasn't going to buy anything if I couldn't try it on first. Grr.
