As many opportunities as I have had to be seriously injured or killed that missed that mark, sometimes by fractions of an inch, and left me unscathed, I figure there is a reason I am here, something I have yet to do. They also serve who stand and wait, but sometimes the little things we do have importance far beyond the moment.

That's right.

Ah, a brother from another mother...
If there is more than one way to do it, for me, every time, it's the hard way.
I will stand for what is right and true no matter what, and that path is narrow and rocky... And sometimes leads you where you do not want to go.

But I always get up again. Yes I do.

Contact tracing seems to be all the rage. The state demands to know the names of everyone with whom you've come into contact.

An astonishing stat from New York:

New York has slightly over 100,000 nursing home patients—roughly 0.5% of the population of the state. They account for over 20% of New York's coronavirus deaths. Ergo, a nursing home resident (and naturally, since they have major health complications and live in a confined environment) has 40-50 times higher risk of a coronavirus death than a person in the general population.

In my state, I've heard, the figure is about 65%, as we have an older population than most states. But let's keep young healthy people locked up. Better safe than sorry!  *****rollingeyes*****

Coronavirus has likely killed over 5 percent of NY nursing-home residents
By Aaron Feis
May 10, 2020 | 6:54pm

The coronavirus has likely already killed more than 5 percent of the state’s nursing-home population, according to the latest figures from New York’s Health Department.

As of the start of Sunday, there were 2,598 confirmed COVID-19 deaths in the facilities statewide, the DOH said. There also were 2,646 fatal presumed coronavirus cases in New York nursing homes, in which the deceased weren’t officially tested but displayed telltale symptoms of the contagion.

Both figures total 5,244 deaths, or nearly 5.2 percent of the state’s nursing-home population of 101,518.

And that percentage doesn’t even include the nursing-home residents who were transferred to other facilities, such as hospitals, and died from COVID-19. ... NY Post

How much of that decrease in the downward trend of the 21 day recover rate is lousy reporting?  I don't think my state reports recoveries (AZ).

Thanks again for posting this daily.  I know it takes some work.

Virtually all of it. There are a handful of severe cases that take more than three weeks to recover, but those make up a very small fraction of even those who test positive.

Meanwhile  Fauci is on FOX news reporting that we are reopening to soon...blah..blah..blah.... that S.O.B. IS in part responsible for this mess --- he was head of the research over in China; the same research that even Obama had shut down for fear of a pandemic. The research was restarted again when Trump took office under the leadership of Fauci.
I Believe in the United States of America as a Government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed; a democracy in a republic; a sovereign nation of many sovereign states; a perfect union one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes.  I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it; to support its Constitution; to obey its laws to respect its flag; and to defend it against all enemies.

He didn't say anything that he did not say on the numerous Sunday shows before this, exactly as the new Press Secretary predicted when the press demanded to know why he would not testify in the House.  There's no news here.
