U.S.-China tensions hit a dangerous new high

The coronavirus crisis has sent U.S.-China relations spiraling, alarming analysts who say the two countries are at their most dangerous point in decades.

Why it matters: Instead of working together to fight the global pandemic, the world's two largest economies are engaging in risky escalation.

What's happening: A high-level blame game between Washington and Beijing has brought simmering hostilities and mistrust to the surface.

There need to be major repercussions for China after this is over.  It's going to happen again, and could be worse next time.  Our companies must bring pressure and move production if needed ... but if they cheap out, then I am fine with imposing a ridiculous tariff and retaining the travel ban.

There needs to be a worldwide effort to punish China. They trade with many, many countries. They have caused thousands of deaths and major disruptions totaling trillions of dollars worldwide.
If we can't get agreement with these countries now to punish the criminal actions of China, we never will.

Not only are they trading with many, many countries, that "Belt and Road Initiative" is spreading their influence widely, perhaps that is part of the spreading in Italy and perhaps it is not... per Iran, it certainly seems that way.  We need agreement among Americans too.

It's a repressive government, a good number of their people don't agree with their government, too, this diet they seem to have, that's reeking havoc on the world too.

The protests in Hong Kong show the absolute repulsion held by free peoples of China.

And to think, all this trade helped build them up big. Those saying "well, what countries did they ever conquer", the truth is, that they were not aided by a rise in the standard of living, their wealth before hand. Different situation.

- Who thinks China has been open and willing to work with the world community to stop this virus?
Hmmm. No one huh? Ok
- Who thinks the United States has been open and willing to work with the world community to stop this virus?
Ok, lots more. Almost everyone.

So why should we think China would work with the United States to fight this? They don't have a history of working with anyone.
So why project China's lack of cooperation onto the United States?
Trump has rightly identified the problem player and making this identification is part of the solution to the next possible pandemic.

China's core behavior involves cheating, lying and stealing,
traits they have demonstrated daily over some 4000 years.
Historically they have been ignored, as they should be,
rather than feared.

China is doing everything in their power through their proxies across the world to rewrite recent history.

They are burying and/or muddling everything related to the genesis of SARS-CoV-2. Their lies seep into news across the world eventually becoming accepted "truth".

The number of infected and dead in the Chinese official reports has to be lies. And yet those numbers are repeated over and over as a comparison to Italy and other hard hit countries making it look like they handled things much better than nearly everyone else. Making China some sort of hero in comparison.
