Harvey Weinstein sentenced to 23 years in prison for two sex crimes

NEW YORK — Ex-movie mogul-turned-convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein will spend the next 23 years in prison for his conviction of third-degree rape and forcible sexual assault of two women, his trial judge ruled Wednesday.

Judge James Burke pronounced the sentence after Weinstein's victims scathingly denounced him while demanding the stiffest punishment possible, and after Weinstein addressed the court to express remorse to all the women who testified against him.

“I feel remorse for this situation. I feel it deep in my heart. I’m really trying to be a better person," Weinstein said, addressing his victims.

Weinstein sentenced to 23 years following NY sexual assault trial

Harvey Weinstein — for decades considered one of Hollywood's most prominent and powerful producers — has been sentenced to 23 years in prison in his New York sexual assault trial.

Weinstein, 67, appeared in a New York courtroom on Wednesday after being convicted last month on two of five counts of sexual misconduct. While he was found guilty of a criminal sexual act and third-degree rape, he was acquitted on the most serious charges against him.

Weinstein had faced up to four years in prison on the rape charge, and between five and 25 years for the criminal sexual act charge. His team has said he plans to appeal the verdict.

So, essentially.... Weinstein is sentenced to life in prison. 

Wow.

Even considering that Weinstein is a typical liberal scumbag.....

is this sentence "justice"?   Or is there an agenda being driven....

He's trash, no doubt. But some airline mechanic who was found guilty of endangering passengers' lives by tampering with planes was sentenced to three years.

Maybe Weinstein deserved what he got but then much more so did this mechanic.

Needless to say....

the concept of justice has become very arbitrary in America.   Judges are making rulings based on political correctness, political motivations, mob rule and pure emotion, IMO.

How much do you wanna bet his lawyers will have a private meeting with the prosecutors an' within a two weeks he'll be found dead in his cell. The Chappaquaw Crime Cartel has a long reach an' many eyes an' ears within the criminal justice system.
