A press secretary for Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro tested positive for coronavirus less than a week after meeting with President Trump.
Fabio Wajngarten, Bolsonaro’s communications secretary, started feeling flu-like symptoms on Wednesday, and a subsequent test found he was positive for coronavirus, according to Estadao. After his test, Bolsonaro and several others who traveled with him to Miami to meet with Trump last week were placed under self-quarantine.
A regional development minister, Rogerio Marinho, noted that Bolsonaro’s scheduled visits throughout the country had been postponed as he waits to see if he is infected.
Bolsonaro and Wajngarten both visited Mar-a-Lago on Saturday to join the president for dinner. Wajngarten was photographed standing just to the left of Trump and Vice President Mike Pence showing off a “Make Brazil Great Again†hat following the dinner. Several of Trump’s other associates were present at the dinner.
